1 star fake Italian
I had high hopes for Pimento Cucina Italiana & Brunch at the Marriott Hotel in Salitre, but unfortunately, the experience was a major letdown from start to finish.
The welcome was pleasant and the atmosphere inviting, and I was promptly seated for one. Johnny, the manager, personally attended to me and recommended a glass of Tempranillo from Spain, which turned out to be the highlight of the evening — the wine was excellent.
Unfortunately, everything went downhill after that. The bread rolls brought to the table were hard, stale, and completely flavorless. Even the garlic dipping sauce lacked any real taste or character.
Hoping the main course would redeem the evening, I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese — only to be served lukewarm pasta and an equally bland sauce. The pasta was poorly cooked, and to make matters worse, the dish was filled with small and large bone fragments. Bone fragments in a pasta dish are unacceptable and raise serious concerns about kitchen quality and safety standards.
When I mentioned the issue to Johnny, he was courteous and removed the barely touched dish from the bill. However, I was still charged 88,000 COP for what amounted to half a glass of wine — a steep price for such a disappointing dining experience.
Overall, the meal was a one-star disaster. Between the stale bread, flavorless food, unsafe bone fragments, and overpriced wine, I can confidently say I won’t be returning. I recommend looking elsewhere if you're in the area — there are far better options for Italian cuisine in Bogotá.

Read moreA welcoming place with well appointed furniture and decor. A massive breakfast spread across multiple buffet stations and an omelette station. The staff is extremely courteous, polite and eager to serve.
As the morning continued the crowd got larger and the hustle and bustle increased. There is plenty of space indoors as well as on the outdoor patio. Enough staff to go around so you don’t feel neglected.
Andres and Mariluiz were fantastic and made our breakfast experience a pleasant one. There were a couple of hiccups due to the language barrier and some things got lost in translation. However, that was quickly cleared up and the issues resolved...
