This hotel (fami hotel la posada) is on the corner of the main square and run by a great character, Mr Roberto. The prices here seem to be negotiable depending on availability etc (weekends usually more). We had the front room with private bathroom and tv, overlooking the main plaza. Our price included a great breakfast, coffee was made fresh whenever we asked (with or without agua panela). They do a great menu del dia for 8,000. Mr Roberto was constantly checking if we were ok, he does not speak english but with my very basic spanish we were able to get by and we have sent others there since then who also had no problems.||Due to its proximity to the square it can be a bit noisy - especially on the weekends - but it never caused us any problems and we thought really added to the atmosphere.||Jardin has one of the best plaza's we have come across and it is full almost all the time with people drinking coffee (600 a cup is a bargain). On the weekends it fills up with Colombian tourists and on saturday (and to a lesser extent sunday) nights the local cowboys ride into town and spend the evening riding around the main plaza (not just riding - it was equestrian style) while stopping for more cerveza and aquadiente - eventually this leads to some amusing sights of overconfident riders (the horses seem to take in in their stride hehe). ||Note we did have a bad experience of being mugged while hiking outside the town, Roberto took us to the police and a lot of the towns people were genuinely shocked and upset, but please do not let that put you off visiting a very interesting town (still low on foreign tourists).||If you have any problems finding a room here or really need an english speaking host there is another Fami hotel a couple of doors down called mi casa and its run by the lovely Fabiola.||Also, visit Mario at the second floor billards hall next to the hotel - he is a great guy, will show you some trick shots and the...
Read moreReally enjoyed our stay at this adorable place in the main square. The hosts were absolutely fantastic with suggestions and tips and helping arrange tours. The hotel was clean and bright, the staff members were lovely, and we felt very safe and comfortable.||As all the other reviews mention, it is quite loud (and fun!) on the weekends in the square which will be the case in any hotel in that area, we also stayed on Sunday night which was quiet. We did not have the best sleep of our lives, but we enjoyed looking out our window on the atmosphere in the square and slept ok with earplugs.||Thank-you for the lovely stay -...
