ESTELAR La Torre Suites Hotel — Hotel in Medellín

As a frequent guest at Estelar La Torre Suites, I've enjoyed staying at this hotel repeatedly these past two years on a variety of occasions. The Tesoro neighborhood (with its close proximity to Tesoro Mall) is arguably the safest, cleanest and most modern in the city and the hotel itself provides excellent, first class service for its guests. The hotel building is beautiful and grounds are generally well kept. I'd like to give a special mention to front desk staff Alejandra for her impeccable English and professionalism at all times. Bell-person Camilo also speaks excellent English and is extremely helpful to guests consistently. The restaurant staff as well as Housekeeping are also very professional and excellent in their service. If I have any criticism to offer however, it is one specific issue only, that on my most recent stay, I booked my room three months in advance and when doing so I made a special request to stay in the same room that I had on all my previous visits. This time my request was not honored, and with no reason or explanation provided by front desk staff. Instead I was offered a room on a low floor with no view which was extremely disappointing to me, given that I am a loyal customer and how far in advance I had made my booking and request. If I am paying 500,000 pesos a night in a Colombian hotel while on vacation, I at least want to be able to have a decent view, otherwise I will find an alternative hotel or Airbnb to stay at with a similar great view. After my brief protest the front desk staff compromised and ended up offerering me a room on a higher floor but one that unfortunately had a much smaller balcony that my previous suite. I reluctantly accepted the alternative offer yet still wondered why the hotel was not willing to reserve the specific suite requested three months in advance. It is still a mystery to me! As a valued customer, in the future I look forward to returning to Estelar La Torre Suites and hope they will do their best to value me as a loyal customer and do their best honor my future reservation requests. If done so at that time, I will be happy to then change this review from a four star...

The room appears nice but that’s all. If you scratch behind the surface many things don’t work ||Our first room had electrical issues and had all the power cut off twice. I was knee deep in water trying to get laundry out of washing cycle to get into new room||They moved us to an 18th room floor that did have electricity but the balcony lock wasn’t working and they had to send a repair person to fix the lock||The next day the tv doesn’t work or won’t turn on and wasn’t and kids were upset||In one of the bathrooms the vanity mirror and medicine Cabinemt won’t shut so you can’t use the toilet because the vanity mirror hits your head while you try to sit on the toilet.||I was at breakfast and told that espresso was included in the breakfast buffet by one of the waiters and then present with a bill to pay by another waiter for the same espresso. Eventually after exposing and having to point the finger at the waiter who said the espresso is included he waived the fee. I would have paid the &1.76 for the espresso but it’s the principle.||The hotel tries but it’s disorganized. Book a serious hotel chain instead of this. I come to Colombia almost every month to visit my girlfriend and I stay here all the time . The staff is super friendly and remember me all the time . Makes me feel wanted . The rooms are very spacious for you to invite friends over . All you have to do is check them in . Quick process no big issue .. the restaurant is fine .. I rather eat out anyways . It’s just convenient that’s it’s there if you want a quick bite to eat before heading out .. only thing I guess would have to be a issue is that you have Residents living there . So your neighbors could be people who actually live there . I had an issue once where I had people over and the neighbor was not fond of that and told the front Desk we were making a lot of noise . I mean I don’t blame him I’d be kind of annoyed if I had back to back new guest every week coming in for vacation . If it was strictly just hotel I’d would be 100/100 for me . But In all I love it there and won’t ever stop...
