Hotel Review: Blue Suites, Medellín
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly opened Blue Suites Hotel in Medellín, and it surpassed all my expectations.
Location: Situated in a beautiful, safe neighborhood, the hotel is conveniently located just a few meters from El Tesoro, one of Medellín’s premier shopping centers, which features a variety of upscale shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. This prime location offers guests a seamless blend of convenience and comfort.
Room: The rooms at Blue Suites are immaculately clean and modern, with a cozy yet elegant decor that invites relaxation. Every detail is meticulously attended to, ensuring a comfortable and refreshing stay. Returning to such a pristine space after a busy day in the city was a highlight.
Service: The service at Blue Suites is truly top-notch. Every team member demonstrates genuine warmth and professionalism, with some individuals going above and beyond. Camila at the front desk was consistently attentive, always ready to assist with any needs and did so with a friendly and sincere smile. Angelo and Danna at breakfast were also exceptional, offering attentive service that ensured each morning began pleasantly.
Amenities: The hotel’s amenities are outstanding. A notable highlight is the massage spa on the top floor, where skilled staff offer specialized treatments at prices that are refreshingly affordable compared to those in the U.S. or Europe. I booked two days of spa services without hesitation and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of care and expertise. The rooftop also features an excellent restaurant Cannario, which offers spectacular views over Medellín—especially stunning at night.
Overall: Blue Suites Hotel offers an unparalleled experience in Medellín, with its excellent location, spotless rooms, and outstanding service. I am already looking forward to my next stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking an exceptional stay...
Read moreI would give zero stars. Let's start from the very beginning. When we arrived they told us we had to wait until 3pm to check in. Even thought we are expedia status members which we told them and also includes an upgrade upon availability which we understand. We saw 2 more people check in right after us and they were given an early check in. Maybe because they were Colombians and we are not. I know i saw thier passports. Which was a strike already on them. -They also tried to make me get some bogus insurance I was like I don't think so! I refused! Don't let them fool you it's not mandatory. -Then I asked since we were not allowed to check in early to please put our bags in the room at check in time as we were busy and will not here for check in time. They failed they didn't put our bags in the room. Also the room we booked deluxe was clean but I found 2 roaches on different days. Disgusting! Then let's talk about the rooms. -Beds are very firm and pillows are bad. There is no water included but they sell you water in the room. Paper thin walls you can hear everything. We had terrible nights sleep with the room on one side screwing all hours of the night and morning and the other side we had another pair of ignorant guests playing music all night and started again at 5am. Ridiculous I had to call the front desk to come tell them to shut it off after I knocked on thier door and they didn't answer. -The bathroom fan which turns on with the light was very very loud. -They also had a gardener cleaning with an airblower in the morning right by our room 1st floor. About the area. It's clean and safe there is just nothing nearby except Tesoro Mall which is a nice mall about 18 min waking or 7 min by taxi. A tiny bakery next door and a small fruit stand.
I am well traveled so not complaining here. Take much caution if you want to book here. I would not stay here again and would not...
Read moreWe went for 5 days a group of 10 (5 couples). The hotel is new, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Bed very comfy, good space in the room and bathroom. Iron and hair dryer included. Everything you need you have. My room didn't have a microwave (207) I didn't really need it, just in case, fyi. Since it was my bday when we did the reservation 3 weeks in advanced) we put in a request so they give us a different welcoming (you know like balloons, a bday sign, a drink, ANYTHING), we've done it before in other hotels, worldwide, and the hotel staff ALWAYS put something nice for us, NOT THIS TIME hahahaha. So if you are celebrating something and you want to surprise someone with a nice gesture this is NOT your place to go. Everything you ask in reception is "Upon availability" (even when the hotel is not at full capacity), I didn't see an accumulation of guests during my stay (5 days) but I guess the staff was not available at any time to do anything for us. They seem to be helping you but in reality they just do the minimum. One of our friends paid for a view and they gave them a wall view haahahhahaa we had to go back to the reception and they changed his room on the 2nd or 3rd day. So when you do your check in PLEASE make sure you get what you paid for, if not have them change it right away. The walls are thing so at night time you hear people talking, laughing or having fun, cool with us but I have a light sleep. The breakfast is very very good and the staff in the cafeteria is super sweet. Overall I had...
