Stayed here for 3 months, not much complaints at all. To start, its a very lowkey/quiet hostel, so if you’re into a more social/party hostel, this one is not for you. But for people who are focused on work or a more quiet & homey feeling hostel wanting to get away from tourist traps like El Poblado, this one is for you! Now it can get a little boring at times but if you’re an introvert, I don't think you’ll mind. When it is time to socialize, you form a bit more deeper connection as most stayers aren’t the fast travel type.
Pairing that with the price, i think its one of the best bang 4 buck hostels. Its clean, no bugs at all asides a mosquito or fly here & there. Gina, the wonderful woman who maintains the house cleaning, does a extensive & thorough job at cleaning the entire place daily, even getting the often missed/ forgotten things as time goes on.
Most front desk volunteers are very nice, outgoing & helpful, but the main staff Orlando (call him cholo for a good laugh) was outstanding host. He is very considerate to making the travelers stay in Colombia nice, not just at the hostel. Alongside giving local tips, info & recommendations, he even helped me on multiple occasions outside of hostel duties , including helping me get my money back from a motorcycle rental place that tried pulling a fast scam on me due to language barrier. And also transporting me on his motobike. Every traveler that has come, I’ve seen Orlando go out of his way to help. Excellent chef as well if you catch him during cooking times.
The location is in a very safe neighborhood, mostly older people. And theres also some sort of constable house or some high up that lives across the street so the police presence is very common on a daily basis. There is a main Exito /vivo mall not even 2 minute walk away from the hostel. It was also surrounded by a lot of other shops, restaurants and whatever you can imagine. It’s not a far walk to get to parque laureles or calle 70 street, popular areas of the laureles neighborhood. It’s about a 20 minute walk, straight down 1 main road to get to the closest metro station, floresta. Or a cheap & quick uber. Theres also a bus that will take you to the station. The metro will connect you all over the city, is cheap & relatively easy to use. Just beware some stations are in not so good areas but the stations themselves are very safe.
Overall, i say if you’re traveling on a budget and want a non party type hostel that’s in a very local neighborhood, getting a slight bit more commercialized this...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hostel Parisa and it was a great experience! The staff was super friendly and always ready to help with recommendations for places to visit. The atmosphere was very welcoming, making it easy to meet other travelers.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, with lockers for security. The common areas, including the kitchen and lounge, were well-maintained and perfect for relaxing or socializing. The free WiFi worked well, and the hostel also offered fun activities like pub crawls and city tours.
The location was excellent—close to public transport and major attractions, making it easy to explore the city. The only minor downside was that it could get a bit noisy at night, but that’s expected in a...
Read moreThe staff was extremely nice and helpful. They were always there to check in on me when I would return and make sure I was okay. It was nice to feel accounted for as a solo female traveler. Laureles is a calmer neighborhood compared to Poblado which I preferred. The hostel was very chill and a nice quiet place to call home for my trip! They had a kitchen so I could save money and cook there. Laundry services for hire. In a great location near many shops, grocery stores and restaurants! Very reasonably priced too....
