Six of us from the US stayed at this hotel on two nights - Friday, January 29th and Saturday, January 30th, 2016.||||This hotel is situated in the upscale barrio (neighborhood) of Laureles in Medellin, Colombia. The hotel is across the street from Mall Laureles and 1 block from the larger Viva Mall that includes an Exito grocery store.||||I paid 227,000 pesos a night (about $69) for my girlfriend and I. The price included a nice buffet breakfast which included arepas, toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, coffee, and hot chocolate.||||Our room was nice although the door’s deadbolt lock didn’t work and I don’t like sleeping with a duvet (basically a sheet, blanket and sheet combination) in such warm weather.||||Some places within walking distance of the hotel:||||Walk 2 blocks south on Carrera 81 to Calle 35 where you will find a store that sells inexpensive men’s (upstairs) and women’s clothing.||||Walk north a block then east about 3 blocks you will come to Parque Laureles #2. About 2 blocks further, behind the McDonald’s on Avenida Nutibara is a restaurant I strongly recommend named Alicate. Ask for Estaban who speaks good English.||||Across the street at Laureles Mall there is a storefront (local 127) that offers daily round trips to their hotel in Santafe de Antioquia which includes lunch and use of their facilities (pools, hammocks) for 60,000 pesos. Dress cool as Santafe is HOT!||||At the time of this review (February, 2016) there were 3,300 pesos to...
Read moreMy last two days in Colombia i wanted to treat my family and I to a nice hotel. I saw this hotel as being a 4 star hotel which in my head justified the high price. When I arrived i was put into a tiny room with a bed and a sofa bed, dark, no natural light, mattresses were hard, was given a quarter of a toilet paper roll... neighbours were noisy. I was so sad. I spent so much money on this crap hotel, i could have spent it on a nice hotel. Upon reservation they asked for my credit card info so i was pretty much forced to stick to it. In my opinion this is false advertising, there is no way this is a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in real 4 stars' for half the price and this is nothing compared to them. The only decent part of the stay was the staff, which tried to accommodate us. However we were very unhappy as no room we were showed was worth the high price we paid. What a disappointment... thanks Golden Palermo for fking up my...
Read moreWe reserved this hotel for five nights. Upon arrival we were disappointed with the room and asked if we can switch hotels after the first night without cancellation fees. The reception staff was nice and said it's not a problem. So we reserved a different hotel for the remaining four nights only to later learn the manager denied the request. We returned several times during our stay to speak with the manager, but she apparently is only on-site fridays. So I asked for her email and they gave me an incorrect email address. We eventually got the correct email from the reception staff and emailed the manager but she never responded. Meanwhile we were charged for 5 nights even though we stayed one night and the hotel's policy states we would only be charged a cancellation fee equal to one night. Needless to say we we're disappointed with the experience with this hotel and would not...
