The Owner and the staff made me feel welcome from the moment I got there. They all new my name as I walked through the door. This hostal has 24 hour front desk security. The part-time cleaning lady Erica was amazingly diligent and always made sure my room was cleaned and had new sheets. My private room had actually 3 beds and was cosy. The bed was a little stiff but it worked wonders on my back. The bathroom was plenty big and the hot water worked on command. The closet was plenty big and had ample space for all my belongings. The hostal has two kitchens fully stocked with all the utensils pots and pans needed to cook food. There were 2 very large refrigerators that had plenty of space for all of my food and drinks. There were plenty of common areas with good wifi and tv's with cable and paid Netflix. The hostal is located 1 block from the main strip called Calle 70 which has great nightlife and plenty of restaurants both cheap and pricy. It is also located 3 blocks from the metro, and a beautiful park to walk around in. The area is very safe and upscale. Another plus was that vendors in the city walk around selling fresh fruits and vegetables from carts and would often stop in at the hostal to sell. The hostal is also conveniently located near 2 huge grocery stores that sell everything you need to cook at the hostal. Buses and taxis were abundant and within a block...
Read moreOne of my favourite hostels in all of Colombia. You immediately feel at home with Gabriel and his wonderful family who own and manage the hostel. The neighbourhood is fantastic - very residential and secure and only 5 minutes from la Setenta, where you can find every type of restaurant and lots of bars with mainly locals, which I preferred. The hostel is also a 5 minute walk from Estadio metro - so convenient, and only 10 minutes to downtown Medellin. It's also only 5 minutes to an Exit supermarket and 10 minute walk to a huge Jumbo supermarket, which was even better. |The hostel is really clean and everything is new and high quality - comfy beds and a good size bathroom in each dorm. My favourite was the 5 bed dorm with doors that open into the patio with hammocks - it was so nice to be able to sleep with the door open - a rarity anywhere! It has a great, well-equipped kitchen with lots of space to cook and store your food. It's a very chilled out hostel so you won't get anyone waking you up in the middle of the night, equally everyone I met here was so nice and friendly and we had some fun nights out on la Setenta nearby and in Poblado (an easy metro ride or 5000COP in an Uber), and a couple of Netflix marathons. A really nice vibe with awesome...
Read moreThis is my third time back in Medellin and I'm so greatful to have found this place! I rolled up into town quite sick and I couldn't have asked for a better place to recuperate. The staff were so kind to me despite me being a boring hermit while recovering. The kitchen is great and well-equipped, the whole hostel is immaculate, the beds are hotel-quality, all new fixtures in the bathroom with hot water and strong pressure in the showers, and everything is very safe with face-to-face entry, a key for the dorm room, AND huge locker boxes. Strong wifi, plenty of outlets, and hammocks meant I was kept comfy and entertained with Netflix on my bummer days bedridden. ||||You're also in a great location two short blocks from Calle 70 with plenty of bars, restaurants, and a supermarket. Plus, the metro a five minute walk away means plenty of access to the nightlife of Medellin while feeling at home and getting a great night's sleep on a quiet residential street. What more could you want? Thank you so much,...
