This place was an utterly amazing experience. Wi-Fi is great, no issues whatsoever. Large and spacious work desk area within my room, and work space area on the terrace as well. The place is extremely clean, a big plus for me. I’m extremely finicky about clean bathrooms and kitchens. The staff is friendly, professional, and helpful, not just for issues within the lodging, but also for any help that you would need to maneuver the city. Laundry service is available, another plus if you love clean clothes but hate doing laundry yourself lol. Because of an issue I had before even getting there, the owner was even nice enough to upgrade my room! The view was indescribable, Netflix, Internet, etc. on large screen TV, soft, comfortable bed, plenty of storage space for all your luggage, the list goes on. The gorgeous terrace on the top floor is for cooking and storing groceries and just general passing the time. The vegetation up there gives it a tropical island feel. There are books to read and games to play and even another restroom there. The view of the city and the people you meet will have you spending more time on the terrace than planned if you’re not careful lol. The hostel is located in between a couple of nice restaurants and right in front of a amazing park with a pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, running track, work out gymnasium, etc. The shopping mall and the metro are a 10 minute walk away. Restaurants all around that cater not only to omnivores, but also to vegans and vegetarians. I cannot say enough good things about this place. My review would be much longer than this. My only regret about the place is that I had to return to work so I could not stay longer. Digital nomads, good luck getting any work done in such a beautiful,...
Read moreI was in Medellin for all of 2 weeks before the quarantine and strict lockdown started... and I couldn't have asked for a better place to ride it out. The owner, Joel, was always super accommodating and helped us with anything and everything we needed. He made sure that we were always comfortable and happy. My room was spacious with a big window (and blackout curtains for the vampires), a little desk/workstation, shelves and a nice sized closet. The beds were super comfortable, with brand new pillow-top mattresses (and sheets that got washed once a week). The staff always kept the place super clean. The internet is the most reliable and fastest that I've found in Colombia thus far and a beautiful rooftop terrace with plenty of desks and workspaces for digital nomads. ||Also, if cooking is your thing (definitely is mine) then don't think twice and just book here. The kitchen is so well equipped with everything you could need, stainless steel surfaces, two industrial refrigerators, a huge industrial oven with 6 ranges and every kind of accessory you could dream of. It's easy to save money here and have more of a Colombian experience when you compare it to El Poblado (only 30 min. walk or 5 min. taxi) and that whole area. The house is super close to tons of supermarkets, local fruit and veggie grocers, local butchers, health food/natural markets, a big mall and the biggest exercise complex/park in Medellin.||I honestly can't recommend this place enough - it became my home and safe space in Medellin during really complicated and tough times. I will be forever grateful for my experience...
Read moreStayed here for several months and made many great friends. This is not a hostel.. It really does feel like your living in a small community. The rooftop makes for a great social space, or just to get some work done at one of the desks. ||||For the price this is definitely one of, if not THE best, Co-Living space in Medellín. I've visited others like los patios, and while bigger/fancier.. they have guest policies, more expensive, security guard/reception.. It just doesn't feel like home. The art here is also simply unmatched and the prices in Laureles are muuuch less than Poblado! ||||If you're into sports - across the street you've got a basketball court, running track, a free open air gym, pool, and more...||||For food - just next door there is a restaurant serving up menu del día for 12k. There's an amazing vegan place 3mins walk, cafes, éxito or D1 for grocery shopping 5mins, and the unicentro mall 10mins away. Overall, everything is super close and the area is very nice and safe.||||Negatives: the only thing I can think of is the street noise and planes flying over. ||||Absolutely recommended this place and would return on my next visit...
