We stayed at the Aurora Hostal in Taganga, Santa Marta, Colombia. The hotel is situated just two minutes from the beach. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our accommodation included breakfast, which was served from 7:30 AM to 9 AM. One morning, we didn’t have breakfast because we left at 7 AM. The next day, when we requested breakfast, my husband asked for an addition of another item (sausages). The staff informed us that there would be an extra charge. We agreed, but upon checking out, my husband asked the young man to adjust the additional charge for breakfast with the one we didn’t have on the day we left early. The young man called the hotel manager, who replied that it couldn’t be done that way. We ended up paying for the extra breakfast (3,000 pesos) and also for the breakfasts we didn’t consume. My husband jokingly mentioned the rats of the Seine River in Paris.
