I came to Taganga to do my open water diving license and stayed for three nights in Hostal Palohe. It's hard to find anything what could be improved. The hostel is the cleanest hostel I've been to in Colombia, even the beds in the dorms are made every day. There is an outside kitchen which is even better equipped than my own in kitchen back home and very clean as well. Furthermore, the whole common are around the kitchen and the pool is really nice as well and made with love. Decoration is so pretty! It's visible that the owner was thinking about what his guests would appreciate and that he as well as his staff love their work. Everybody is so nice and helpful (Giuliano gave me really helpful tipps while choosing my diving school) and the owner even took me in his car back to my hostel in Santa Marta.|Haven't tried the breakfast but looked good to and there is free coffee the whole day.|As the hostel isn't to big it's easy to socialize as well, perfect for solo travelers! Many thanks to...
Read moreOwner very nice, super helpful, and spoke excellent english. Security was good and felt safe, even if the town of Taganga is kind of seedy. Private room was well stocked and clean, and while it wasn't fancy, i.e. the shower is just a pipe with no showerhead, everything worked well, and the AC worked fantastic. The room was cleaned every day, which was unusual for hostels and very nice. Shared facilities were very nice, with some hammocks, couches, and kitchen with appliances. There's also a rooftop area that gets a nice breeze. Its about a 150 yards away from the main street/bar/music area, so you don't have noise or drunk people from there. Easy 5 minute walk. Downside, there's a bar nearby that does play very loud music until about...
Read moreMy sister and I stayed in a private room at Hostal Palohe for 2 nights and it was honestly one of the best experiences we've had in almost 3 months of traveling around Colombia! The highlight was the personnel. Ellie, who works at the reception, has the kindest heart and is always willing to help. She even brought her laptop for me to use when I needed it and gave tea with honey to my sister who was sick. The two cleaning ladies were also adorable. They even took the time to wash some of our clothes (those that could not go in the washing machine) by hand. Our clothes have almost never been so clean and smelled so good! The place is also very clean. Thank you so much to all those working at the hostel for their attention and help! It...
