There is sooo much potential when it comes to Hotel Nya for being the price point that it has! This was last part of our trip and we were here for about 4 nights which is a long time for us because we were exhausted and wanted to go home lol. Montezuma itself is a small like town which is soooo perfect and beautiful during the day and night time because of the community and it was such a honor to be there. There really isn't much to do in Montezuma if you're looking for activities that'll keep you busy. Theres a few restaurants and also shops along the park pathway.||Now onto the review on the Hotel itself. Its cute! We unfortunately had gotten dropped off at the beach by Zuma tours and had to drag our suitcases across town to Hotel Nya (maybe an 8 min walk? depends on how fast you are but very quick) There was no exact entrance to the reception so we dragged our luggage through gravel onto the restaurant which there was someone WHO DID NOTTT want to be there AT ALL(it was our first and last time seeing her) !! There was a gentleman( so sorry I didn't get a name but he was an absolute angel) at reception that was able to check us in and help us with both my partner's and I luggage (so strong)! We got there a bit early before check in but luckily our room was ready for us when we were there! The "deluxe room with terrace" was just a small room with a bed, table and coffee plus the terrace but we can get access to our neighbors terrace so it wasn't private lol. They did have soap, shampoo/conditioner the works BUT the towels were a bit outdated and thin?? lol I was also a bit irked about no TV in the room which I get it, we need to relax!! We mostly stayed by the pool the entire trip (they provided LUSCIOUS TOWELS) but the sad thing was there was no room service, you cant order drinks at the bar to take to the pool, so we basically had to walk outside the hotel to the local stores to get snacks, drinks! There was no lunch or dinner service at the restaurant ONLY breakfast which served a few items off there. They were in the middle of the transition of rebranding their restaurant so unfortunately we did not have any lunch/dinner which is sad because breakfast was delicious. ||Overall, Hotel Nya is a great hotel to be at since its a bit more modern for what Montezuma, Costa Rica has to offer. Unfortunately, for the high price point it did not match for the experience.. I just wish we had MORE from Hotel Nya. Its a newer hotel and has some kinks to work out on but still pleasant to stay at We would probably do maybe 2 nights max here if we were...
Read moreWe stayed at Nya for 6 nights. It’s across the street from the beach. We walked the beautiful beach with our coffee every morning and watched the sunrise. Very magical. I recommend bringing lots of water and walking to playa grande beach at least once. Spectacular beach and a nice walk with lots of great spots to stop on the way.
The hotel sits in the jungle and we enjoyed wild life and monkeys everyday. The bartenders and restaurant staff were great. Shout out to Sting for making it extra special and fun. Restaurant was very good, breakfast every morning was great.Beautiful pool and grounds to relax and enjoy a book or a nap. Our room had a few mosquitos that snuck in somehow and ants in the shower. In my experience it comes with being in a jungle. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We did yoga and the classes were so good. Incredible yoga instructors, with such a beautiful atmosphere. Montezuma is a fun town. Lots to do in town and plenty of great restaurants. We hiked to the waterfalls which was such an adventure and would highly recommend. We also did Cabo blanco (bring water shoes beach is so rocky) beautiful hike and lots of wildlife. We would 100% come back and stay here. In fact we plan on it. We have spent a total of 5 weeks now in Costa Rica and Montezuma is in the top 3 places. Great vibes and beautiful beaches. Montezuma has definitely been discovered, it being nestled where it is keeps it small and more local feeling but it is expensive. Drinks are like $10-15 and dinner can be expensive as well. You can save by eating at some of the sodas. (Sodas typical was our favorite) and do a grocery shop on your way to buy snacks and maybe some drinks to keep in fridge. Only criticism is from desk seemed a little bit stressed out. It wasn’t clear on instructions for yoga , if it was a cost ( it is but with it) and a few other things bill at end was confusing so give extra time to go over it at check out. . Id also recommend asking about where to rinse feet off before going to your room. I wish there was a place outside rooms so you don’t track in sand. We had found a hose by pool. Very minor on the scale of...
Read moreHotel Nya is beautiful and the setting is just perfect. We saw so many monkeys! It was truly the highlight of our stay at Nya. The location of Nya is really convenient, you are just steps away from restaurants, shops and the beach. I did think the hotel was on the beach, but it is actually across the street. You can't see the beach from the property. Our room was nice but small. Felt very minimal. The room was lacking a mirror outside of the bathroom, no TV, no radio, few outlets. The closet was a joke with room to hang two items. No other storage for clothes. The bed was great and pillows were comfy. Unfortunately it was very very loud come 830am. Not sure if it was the maids or other guests but my husband who likes to sleep in was woken up all mornings of our stay. ||It was nice that breakfast was included but they nickel and dime you. Want strawberries with your yogurt? That will be $2000 colones. Smoothies? Not included. Latte? Nope. Service at the restaurant was to be expected in Costa Rica. Very slow. We asked for water multiple times with our breakfast and never got it. The waiter was nice but for some reason didn't want to bring us water. ||I took a yoga class which was very peaceful and energerizing all at the same time. I do wish the yoga was included in our stay but unfortunately it cost an additional $15 USD. ||Overall we enjoyed our stay but felt like the hotel was overpriced. Almost $300 a night with fees & taxes and we had to personally haul our luggage across gravel & up a few stairs to our room. We also had forgotten the bottle of bug spray in our car upon check out and were stopped on our way out to return it. I've never had an issue taking toiletries from a hotel before, it caught us off guard. Comfortable stay but we will stay elsewhere next time we're...
