Soda El Artesano — Restaurant in Cóbano

The food was OK, nothing special, but the waitress charged me 3000 extra for my meal. When I ordered, I pointed on the menu what I wanted (Shrimps in garlic for 5000). A few minutes later she came back to ask me something in Spanish, all I understood was if I want something with the shrimps or just the shrimps. I said I just want the shrimps in garlic like I ordered. When the bill came my shrimp dish was 8000 and listed as jumbo shrimps. There was not even such an item on the menu, they said it was a special dish. How can you change my order to a much more expensive, off-the-menu dish when I didn’t ask for it and literally pointed out the dish I wanted? They refused to charge me the 5000 I had intended to spend, even though it was their mistake. So I had to pay 8000 for no reason. They were also very rude about it. Not so nice to get scammed like this on our first day in Montezuma. I would not recommend...

Steak to die for! We came to Soda El Artesano on a local's recommendation, and so glad we did! I'm usually a vegetarian, but decided to cheat this time and ordered the tenderloin steak with mushroom sauce and bacon. After a horrible steak experience at Balcon del Mar, I clearly explained that I wanted a thick steak, cooked rare, not dry. Boy did they ever deliver! Without exaggeration, this is one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life! My friend ordered the fajitas, which were also quite tasty....

Food was nice, service was not. We ordered two pescados, ended up with one pollo and one casado (with fish though). It also took a while to get served (compared to other people), so we're suspecting they lost our order and didn't want to ask us again?
