You cannot skip this place! By far the best place we visited during our stay in Montezuma. After a not so great service from their neighbours, we headed to ‘Latino’ for a couple of afternoon drinks and ended up staying for several. The waitress serving us was so attentive and friendly, checking up on our drinks and us, showing an evident care for her job. The guacamole was also really tasty and a perfect light bite.

Naturally, we returned the next day, to the very same table, where a charming waiter served us with a constant smile. Again, he was super friendly and helped us with our menu choices. When one table had ordered the catch of the day (a glorious red snapper) he assured us if we waited 40 minutes we could have one to ourselves, as they had ordered the last of them. It was so worth the wait! We were served a huge platter of a Red Snapper in a deliciously crispy (but not heavy) batter with avocado rice, salad and patacones. It was divine. That day we stayed there for approximately 5 hours! Sipping on litres of Sangria and enjoying the beautiful view of Montezuma beach. A truly wonderful experience and I hope, should I ever be in Montezuma...

I had just came in to see what dishes they had for lunch. The special they had was shredded beef tacos. But I decided on the fish tacos instead.

This dish came with 3 soft-shell taco shells, they called it, lettuce slaw mix (just hashed lettuce or cabbage also), a few fried, breaded fish pieces, topped with a drizzle of french ceasar dressing and 1 orange slice.

The petite waitress was very efficient as she took orders and brought out food with friendly smiles throughout.

The fish tacos weren't too bad, but I think the price was too high considering we were right on the frickin Pacific beach, loaded with fish and seafood galore! Come on!

I also had the overpriced fruit beer to try it out. It was good but not worth the high price of nearly $9 usd!! This owner is getting rich fast by overcharging customers regarding mediocre food dishes and beverages.

You can keep it for the well to do with their cash to burn for food and dishes that simply aren't that impressive as these other reviewers claim. Believe me, there are better restaurants in the vicinity that have great dishes at much better prices along with super service, which equals more bang...

Restaurante Montezuma Latino was our favorite place to hang out, eat and drink! Their cocktails are beautifully made and delicious as well! The Coco Loco is a pipa fresca (fresh coconut) blended with rum and a bit of fresh coconut cream, then served in the coconut shell, with the excess in a glass. So refreshing in the tropical heat of Montezuma!

Their food is amazing too. We loved everything we ordered, from the Chifrijoles, to the whole snapper special. We sampled most of their menu, with the exception of the more americanized dishes.

Their prices are very reasonable and on par with the area.

The entire staff, the owner, the bartenders, and the servers, were all incredibly friendly and patient with our attempts to speak Spanish (although they do speak English perfectly).

A latin band played on Saturday night starting around 10pm until around 1am. The restaurant is at the end of the road, near the beach, and everyone gathers there in the evenings, so it becomes quite a social area on...

First night in Montezuma after riding the dusty trails of the southern Nicoya peninsula we arrived at the edge of the Pacific and Restaurant Montezuma Latino. The Peaflower gin and tonic was cold, cleansing and invigorating to my old bones, and my partner's passion fruit margarita seemed to water her soul like a summer shower on a scorching afternoon. She ordered up the ribeye, rare, tasty and juicy. I was in a mood for something different - a calamari and chicharone chifrido. Golden fried calamari, five inches long, a crispy chicharone the size of a pork chop, accompanied by guacamole, plantain chips and fresh salsa. An amazing start to a spectacular culinary tour in a Hippie forward town that is pretty hard to get to, and even harder to leave.
