I use to love this place when the previous operated it but now some crazy guy took over.
I came with my fiancé to get some breakfast and some coffee to go. When the owner brought us our cups of coffee he brought them out in some cheap plastic cups completely deformed from the hot coffee impossible to even touch without burning yourself. We asked the owner if he could get us some other cups and this guy flipped out. He began to explain how "This is not America this is Costa Rica we don't have different cups here. What do we think this is Starbucks or something." That's when we said thank you but we will be leaving. As we walked out the door the owner started chasing us out screaming stupid f----- gringo and jumping up and down telling us how he will beat the shi--- out of us. That's when my Fiancé told him he looks like a little girl screaming and jumping, then he proceeded to tell us how stupid gringos are and went inside. I love Costa Rica and I have have never seen such an experience with a restaurant owner.

Read moreI came here in regards to the favorable reviews. The place is quaint and peaceful. The food is quite good.
However, when they brought me my coffee, they brought it in a used mug: evident by the coffee stains and prior lip deposits on the rim. This freaked me out so much, I had to wipe every utensil down with alcohol doused napkins!
Also, they call the restaurant "Bakery," but they don't bake a thing! When I was there, there was this rider on a motorbike that was loading the front "bread/pan" enclosure with the bread products and he then took a picture of it when he was writing up the delivery bill.
They have a slogan on their 1 wall: "Good Vibes Only." I surely didn't get many 'Good Vibes' during my visit, referencing: my above observations.
Also, the prices aren't bad but, further down and back along the strip, there are better priced restaurants along with good service as...
Read moreThis is a beautiful bakery in a quiet part of Montezuma near the beach. It shaded and cool with the fans on the porch sitting area. Beautiful decor with paintings, plants, and chimes. They baked the best banana cake I’ve ever had. Also delicious bebidas naturales, I recommend the Amazonas. The eggs and chocolate cake are also divine. We had breakfast food and bakery items but there’s also a full lunch menu with a range of main courses for all palettes (good prices). More importantly the service was exceptional. The female server and female chef were so hospitable with great attention to detail they made sure we had everything we wanted. I would come back to Montezuma just for this bakery and banana bread again....
