To start with the good things: Friendly care takers, beautiful garden, nice cabins, good wi-fi, great pool, close proximity to the beach, authentic Italian wood fired pizzas, close access to Puerto Viejo, Playa Uva etc. Things that can be improved: A lot of mosquitoes so Please make sure all mosquito nets are whole in the cabins. We got bit like hell. A few big caterpillars came in under the door which was not so pleasant. The difference in level of the floors between the Livingroom and the bathroom is treacherous Especially while sleepwalking at night to the toilet. The tv reception in the room is really poor. Quite a lot of blood marks on the walls from former encounters with mosquitoes and cleaning under the beds Can be better. The dogs barked a lot during the night. Well dogs are dogs but annoying. The trucks drive past loudly and fast on the road that passes by right beside the cabins. Perhaps suggest some road bumps? We must have came on an exceptionally unlucky week but it is good that you go for electric heated boilers rather...

We stayed for 4 nights at El Nido Pool & Garden Lodge during our trip to Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast. We had a relaxing time with great food and wine. If you are looking for a quiet and spacious place as your base in Puerto Viejo, this is the perfect fit. The property is made up of about 4 cabins in the middle of a gorgeous garden. The recently-renovated cabins are spacious, clean, have everything you need (fridge, stove, sink, TV, fans etc) and a nice porch so you can enjoy your coffee or breakfast. It is a family-run lodge, Vittoria is a great host and always on top of everything and Paolo’s pizzas are just delicious, try the rucola and prosciutto focaccia (Pulcinella is name of the on-site wood-fired pizzeria). Highly...

Great family based hotel. Have to admit it was very clean and beautiful interior, friendly staff and great owner. He let us stay even few hours before they check in because we arrived way earlier. Morning breakfast was delicious and we had direct contact with the owner to accommodate the time (from 8am-10am) also been provided a menu for breakfast - 3 different types: Healthy; Tico and Kids. Which is very cool and we could change it how do we like. Around the house was also very clean and beautiful with birds songs and other animal’s sounds so it was amazing like in the middle of the jungle. We enjoyed every moment being in this beautiful hotel, I’d definitely visit again and give them firm 4 stars hotel-Amazing, strongly recommending!

We are a family of five (kids 9,7,5) and El Nido was perfect for us. On a main road so everything is accesible but secluded so you’re not overwhelmed. The bungalows were private and had every necessity and plenty of amenities. It was spacious, cleaned daily and picturesque. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. And there was even a delicious Italian restaurant and gorgeous pool on site. Planning on returning next year!

Nice family owned place. Little cabins in a jungle setting, simple but cosy. Very clean! We had the AC cabin, which was a great plus :) Breakfast was included and quite tasty too! Good coffee and fresh fruit, eggs made to order and really nice home made bread. There was a pool on site, friendly staff and caretaker, ample parking. Nice Italian beers from their restaurant and their pizza was really good. Happy with our stay!
