This is a secluded, natural environment, very small and personal with spectacular grounds and private bungalows. Each guest room has a private patio with jacuzzi and chairs. The room is large with a larger-than-standard king bed, armoire, seating, refrigerator, coffee maker, and desk. Bathrooms are large with a frosted glass sliding door, very large double shower with a bench and double vanities. The rooms are immaculate the mattress is better than perfect, with firm support but enough softness for absolute comfort. Linens are of excellent quality, 100% cotton with a very soft touch. The furniture is accented strongly with braided banana leaf and with adjustable lighting the room glows with warmth. Rooms have vast floor-to-ceiling windows and the sliding glass entry has sliding screen doors to allow nature's music to play freely. Black-out drapes keep the room perfectly enclosed.
In the shower there is a high window which seems to have an open vent, allowing sound to flow freely, which could mean you hear people outside or they may hear you, but this is really only in the bath and was never an issue for us. There is no bath tub in the room, but the private hot tub provides a much better option for soaking.
The property has an open-air reception connected by a short wooden bridge to the open air restaurant with a bar and pool table but this is not a lively spot; the ambience here is very natural and bohemian where serenity is the overriding theme. The pool includes zero entry and there are open cabanas and covered lounges. There is a table tennis set amid the beautiful and colorful lawn.
The paths here are gravel and meander throughout the bungalows. Lighting is dramatic and brings the grounds to life after dark.
Breakfast is included in the rate, but we ate only once. It was a short menu, but featured a good selection including a classic Cost Rican breakfast with eggs, rice, tortilla, queso blanco as well as Eggs Benedict, an omelette and a couple other selections. In the restaurant is a self service beverage bar with a coffee machine that offers coffee, cappuccino, espresso, hot chocolate, and hot water. Tea is on the counter as well as infused water and fresh juice. Packaged cookies are freely available. There is no decaf coffee at all and they will look at you like you have two heads if you mention it.
The hotel has laundry service, but I do not reccomend it. The clothes did not smell fresh and were somewhat creased and not spot treated.
Several tours are available at the desk and they will call transportation at any time.
The property is close enough to walk to town, if one is so inclined. We walked to town once and it was okay, but the road is not built for pedestrians. Still, it was good to do because it allows a more close-up view of the buildings and local businesses for a more authentic peek at local life.
The best of the magnificent hotel, with no doubt, is the staff who are friendly and warm beyond the norm, as have been all Costa Ricans we have met. Truly, every staffer we encountered was simply amazing.

Read moreWe recently returned from a four-night stay at Noah’s Forest by Tifakara in La Fortuna, and it exceeded every expectation. While this was our first visit to La Fortuna, we are no strangers to Costa Rica—we’ve traveled extensively throughout the country and even lived here for several years, operating a boutique hotel ourselves. With that context in mind, I can confidently say: this property is exceptional.
From the moment we arrived, the level of service was outstanding. The front desk team—Allan, Sol, and Anna—deserve special recognition. They were warm, attentive, and proactive, consistently anticipating our needs and providing thoughtful guidance throughout our stay. They helped us organize multiple tours, answered countless questions, and ensured every detail of our experience was seamless. Allan, in particular, went above and beyond, guiding us on nature walks to spot sloths and blue jeans poison dart frogs right on the property. His enthusiasm and knowledge made our stay even more memorable.
The lobby and common areas are beautifully designed, offering an elegant yet natural ambiance that reflects the surrounding rainforest. It feels luxurious without losing the charm of being deeply connected to nature.
The on-site restaurant, Acacia, was another highlight. As vegans, we were thrilled to find a variety of thoughtful plant-based options on the menu. Everything we tried was delicious—and their Don Julio Reposado margarita is not to be missed. Charlie and Arlen we exceptional - and took care of us at nearly every meal. They remembered our preferences, and were kind and attentive and helpful in every way.
Our casita was spacious, tastefully furnished, and immaculately clean. The bathroom’s water pressure was among the best we’ve experienced anywhere, and the private hot tub on our deck was a perfect way to relax at the end of each day. We were also impressed by the attention to landscape details—carefully placed ropes guided the vibrant foliage to flourish beautifully while keeping the walking paths clear and inviting.
Beyond the beauty and comfort, what stood out most was the hotel’s thoughtful hospitality. Even on our early morning departure, the staff surprised us with a personalized fruit box since we would miss breakfast—an example of the genuine care that permeates the entire guest experience.
We’ve stayed in many hotels around the world and across Costa Rica, and Noah’s Forest is truly a standout. From pre-arrival communication to the warm send-off, every interaction reflected a commitment to excellence.
Highly recommended for travelers seeking comfort, connection with nature, and genuinely heartfelt...
Read moreMy spouse and I stayed here for three nights for our honeymoon. Immediately upon arrival we knew this place was something special. Traveling as a lesbian couple always makes me a little nervous, but they made us feel so incredibly safe and celebrated. One of the hotel staff, Arlen, brought us the most delicious mocktails to our room and greeted us with so much charm and warmth. Another of the hotel staff, Sol, hand-drew us two beautiful cards that we will cherish forever, on top of decorating our room and our dinner table to celebrate our love. It was so incredibly sweet, and that was just the beginning.
Both Arlen and Sol were so incredibly kind and welcoming. I would say that they made us feel right at home, but we don't get spoiled like that at home! As a social worker and a special education teacher, we splurged a little to afford this hotel, and they made every penny worth it. Arlen and Sol took the time to get to know us, and felt like friends by the time we left. Arlen was particularly attentive, and took every step possible to make sure we were taken care of every step of the way. Its clear to me that this guy is beyond excellent at his job. Il
As far as the hotel itself goes, maybe I'm just not used to accommodation on this side of the world but it absolutely blew my mind how fancy this was for the price. It's so private while still feeling like you're a part of everything. The room was spotless and perfectly air conditioned. Our private jacuzzi was cleaned every day.
One of my favorite things was probably just reading a book in the jacuzzi as the rain fell, and hearing the live music softly playing from the restaurant. There was an amazinggg two nozzle rain shower that we were obsessed with. There's fresh coconuts to drink from every morning and AMAZING free breakfast. The staff out out fresh fruit for the birds to snack on, so we got to see stunning wildlife from the restaurant. Just so many little touches and details that made us feel so incredibly grateful. It was so incredibly peaceful and romantic. I can't think of a better place for us to have celebrated our love.
I saw sloths on the property, I enjoyed the birds and the plants and the music, and the incredibly friendly staff. We are truly SO sad to leave this place, but we'll remember it forever...
