Restaurante Está Tuanis — Restaurant in La Fortuna

My partner and I expected to have good food and drinks when we came to Esta Tuanis. We walked away with one of our favourite memories in CR.

1. Food: exceeded expectations. Try their burgers and Birrio tacos. You won't regret it. I haven't seen a burger like theirs anywhere else. They use local ingredients and make their own sauces. Must try.

2. Drinks: Their iced coffee milkshake is sweet to the taste and the eyes. Variety to choose from, honestly would come here just for the drinks.

3. Ambience: relaxed, cool beach vibes. The design is very personalized, as it is a testament to the owner's past.

4. People/Service: the owners Tom and Shey are super down-to-earth people. They really just want you to have a good time. Honestly the best part about this business.

Went to this restaurant last week and it was incredible. It was down the road from a hotel we were staying at. The food was so delicious. My boyfriend and I ordered a burger and birria tacos to split. Both were amazing but the birria tacos were the star of the show. Those tacos were the best I've ever had! Now the service was excellent. The owner Tom was so welcoming, helpful and super friendly, as was the rest of the staff. He and his staff truly made the experience eating here even better. I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant too. It was a local place that had such great vibes. Also they had some pets that were super sweet and cute. We were really looking forward to eating here having read all the positive reviews, but were super disappointed by our experience. The service was lacking, and we didn’t get our food until almost two hours after ordering (we ordered a burger and birria)-we had to flag down the staff to ask what was going on, and all they did was walk away and not come back for another 20 minutes. My husband had a burger that seemed off, so didn’t finish it. When we received the bill, there were no apologies, and they only took off the cost of the burger, since my husband showed what the meat looked like to one of the employees.
