I cannot say enough amazing things about this vacation rental in Potrero. If you are visiting the area and want to spend it in a beautifully landscaped property with your own private cabana (with a very large, covered outdoor deck as well as outdoor kitchen...plus a private pool within your own fenced in space), then this is your place! It's affordable, given prices in the area, and has all the amenities you would need. The property is located at the end of a street in a safe neighborhood and a gated entry makes for added security when you arrive. The hosts are wonderful. They communicate when needed and are always available for suggestions and any help that's needed. There's a king sized bed and large indoor living space, which includes a giant walk-in shower. There are also different layouts in the cabanas if you need a second bedroom. You can walk to the beach, any number of restaurants, the grocery store. Nita (coffee, breakfast, lunch...my favorite) is a short walk away, and it's a short drive to Playa Penca which takes you to Carpe Diem (another great coffee/breakfast/smoothie spot). Potrero is nearby Flamingo, Brasilito, Los Catalinas, and all of the exciting excursions you could want. If you enjoy hiking, Los Catalinas trail system is less than 15 min away and provides hours of hiking among the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean (amazing views). El Pasito Cabinas is a property shared with other guests in their own cabanas, but if you want to spend an entire week without interacting with anyone, you can (I've done it). If you want to spend several weeks here and enjoy all that it has to offer (including great people), you can do that, too (I've done that as well). Etienne and Caroline are wonderful people who have graciously decided to share their amazing property with visitors. I am SO happy that I have found them here. I have travelled here multiple times from the US to spend time alone, and to spend time working, and to spend time relaxing...You cannot go wrong when you stay at El Pasito Cabinas! 5 STARS all around!!
PS: Lesson I learned my first time here - If you are travelling from Liberia airport and choose to take Rt 911/Monkey Trail, you should have a 4x4 and only try to use that route during low season...even then, you will likely have to cross through a creek of water and climb some hills to get to Potrero. Don't worry...you'll make it with the right vehicle . There is another route without water crossing, it just takes a little bit longer. :)
Maybe some day I'll see you there....
Read moreI am only giving two stars because the accommodation is clean and well kept aside from huge glaring issue. We have had a very poor experience with the host of this property. Immediately upon arrival my daughter was swarmed by fire ants in the backyard of unit 3 which is infested , 1000s of ants were crawling up the support beams and going in and out of the ceiling of the unit. My daughter was bit over 12 times on her back and was then terrified to go outside so we requested to shorten the stay, which the host ignored. They implied we weren’t telling the truth until I sent them photo and video evidence. They still refused to help us in any way and are currently trying to charge us for 3 nights when we only stayed for one. We had to get this resolved externally. Their dogs also roam the property and poop in your yard. Also, the area is known for robberies as we were told by several expats at a local bar. If you have kids, don’t bother with this place. They do not show...
Read moreThis property is very secure by being fenced all around with a gated entrance with a security code and in a safe and quiet neighbourhood.
Each cabina has its own safe, parking, A/C, smart TV. and enclosed yard/patio with a small, cool dipping pool to keep your temperature in check. The kitchen is outside so you don't heat up your sleeping space, nor will your clothes and bedsheets smell like cooking.
Everything is basically new and very, very clean and well maintained by Caroline and Étienne, the French, joyful owners. They speak French, English amd Spanish. You may also meet Mélanie, a lovely and peppy young woman who tends to the owner's business when they are on vacation.
Close to more than one beaches and all amenities, it is an awesome place to establish your basecamp and explore Guanacasté and the...
