I was in town visiting some friends locally but was also here to do some research on the big cats that roam the hills near the brewery. My partners and I were using a radio transmitter beacon to track a big female we needed to check on. Cat is number 23 but the locals call her Santa Gata which means Saint Cat. We kept picking up the signal and losing her and she was taking us up higher into some steeps where the footholds were loose and muddy. This was the middle of the semi-damp season, heading into the actual damp season which precedes the wet season..One of the local guides suddenly signaled to be quiet. And hold still. I knew this was not good. He points about fifteen feet above our heads to a low ridge where we see her with her collar chewed halfway off and the transmitter destroyed and hanging limply from what remained. To add to the fun she was not alone. There was a huge male with her which is very unusual as these cats typically are solitary. We all have experience with these things but I admit I was scared. Both animals were in the “crouching tiger” stance. Diego, the head of my local outpost before any of us knew what was going on managed to land a dart in 23’s neck and the big male (I had not seen him before) took off. We came to find out the locals know him simply as “Frank”. We performed our research and safely released 23 back into the bosom of the jungle. As you can imagine we needed a beer. Potrero Brewing was fantastic that day as we arrived worn out, covered in lion fur and mentally shot. I had the tropical lager and the other guys had a terrific sour. I highly recommend it for an afternoon with friends. The staff and owners are lovely and the beer is refreshing and not heavy on your...

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Potrero Brewing Company is our favorite spot in the area for cold craft brew. The open layout is great to sit out and play games, work remote, or even watch a football game during NFL season. The beer is delicious and there are partner businesses with food (amazing tacos) right across from their sitting area. Can't wait to be back in...
Read moreWe LOVE this place!! I don't even know where to start! The owners of this brewery are simply the coolest and sweetest people ever. We had a welcome party for our wedding here and they went above and beyond to make things special for our group. The brewery just had a major renovation and they opened up a few weeks early to welcome our group and it was, without a doubt, one of our favorite parts of the wedding week! The beer was amazing, the space was beautiful, the restaurants in the garden were serving up delicious local treats, and it was just the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy our first night in paradise. We will be coming back to this brewery for years to come- do not miss this place when you're in town (it's hard to miss because it's in the dead center of the main street of town- you pretty much HAVE to stop in)! Make sure to follow them on Instagram too to see all the cool things they...
