Globo Hostel — Hotel in Grad Šibenik

My experience with the owner was absolutely shocking.I asked about the city tax and this made him absolutely angry and he literally ordered the receptionist (a young man) to take my bags and put them in the street at 10pm at night! I am a woman solo traveler, and he was so aggressive and abusive verbally, mentally, and emotionally, not willing to speak to me and thought it was sensible to put me on the street at night, leaving me like this. I was forced to sleep in the bus station. I couldn’t check in anywhere nor did I want to. This was UNFAIR ato treat me like this.HE called Agoda and TOLD them that I wanted to cancel! Not true! I got an email from Agoda saying “the property has called and said you would like to cancel the booking”. I couldn’t believe he did this He then told me “there was an error in the system and that they are “overbooked” and then I showed the reception that Booking and Agoda both show there are 3 available beds, but i has my confirmation # and email anyway so this was all just a lie to get me to leave because he got angry at me for questioning the city tax. I never refused to pay, and he announced that I did. 1.50 euro is not worth sending a solo woman onto the street at 10pm at night. Absolutely disgusted by this man’s behavior and lack of communication and customer service and how he treated me. This was a total abusive and horrific experience and absolutely shameful. He and the receptionist boy were speaking in Croatian negativity about me and he didn’t know that I speak and understand full Croatian. He ordered then reception to make sure I leave and this young man hovered over me like I am some kind of criminal. Cameras all show that I put the coins on the reception desk to pay. 1.50 euro is no reason to put a woman on the street and apart from that lie to me about and error in the system suddenly and then lie again about being full and yet again to tell Agoda that I requested to cancel. Why would I cancel at 10pm at night when I was ready to sleep. The customer service after all this did nothing. There is actually no compensation for how they made me feel and how they treated me! **Of course their comment below would be like this as it is shameful how they handled this with such anger and aggression and treated a paid guest with a reservation. Agoda photo attached to show I never made that phone call, showing they called and cancelled and said i wanted that. NOT TRUE! Again, the owner lost control of his temper and took extreme measures that are shocking and shameful. Over 1 euro. I don’t think he would do this to his daughter, or friend, but very easy to do this to a solo...

This is a nice and practical hostel that with a few minor adjustments could be a lot better.

The good Good location, right next to the bus stop and close to the old town. The double room was really big for a private hostel room, and very good value for money.

The bad The bathrooms and showers are located on a seperate floor from the rooms, and you have to walk through the main common areas to get to/from, so not a lot of privacy there.

The bed in the double room was a major disappointment - it was two single beds stuck together which is normally 'okay', but the frames of the beds meant there was a 5cm wooden gap between the two mattresses, so you really have to sleep completely separately from your partner, no different to sleeping in a twin room.

The men's toilets were also weirdly designed - since the cubicle included a regular toilet plus a urinal, which meant that when you sit on the toilet, your face is actually very close to the urinal, a bit too close for comfort. Also the toilet paper and soap wasn't replenished in one of the toilets for the 2 days I was there..

All in all it's a good practical hostel, but don't bother booking the double room, the dorm beds would be...

The hotel is located near bus station,just cross the road. You have to climb up stairs to the hotels. I came late because I miss the Getbybus from Plitvice to Sibenik, I was waiting for the bus before the time for one our, at gate 1.The bus came 4 o'clock late for one hour. I missed this bus because it has a big bus infront and I can't see it. The bus came and rushed without me, so I have to buy a new ticket to Zadar and got another bus to Sibenik.I arrived at 9pm. When I came to checked in, the room was not ready and have to wait for half and hour. There was only one reception to do the duties,checked in, explain guest about the room, explain the hotels amenities,etc.

My room is in the third floor,but the toilet rooms are downstairs. Everytime you will go to the toilet, you have to walk up and down many steps. It is very bad for the old person like me.

One day is enough ...
