Disappointing Stay – Poor Communication and Hostile Host

Our experience at this property was very unpleasant, mainly due to the host’s behavior. Although we were polite and respectful guests, the host called us “problematic” after I kindly reported that both dishwashers in the apartments weren’t working. She then refused to speak to us further and shut the door in my face. Sadly, this wasn’t the only issue (see below), and it ruined our stay in Šibenik. We were relieved to move to a new accommodation with a friendly host afterward.

Summary: If everything goes smoothly and the host is in a good mood, the stay might be fine. But if any issue arises, expect poor treatment. After reading other reviews on Booking and Google, it seems we weren’t the only ones treated this way. My advice: avoid this place if possible.

Other Issues: • Poor communication before arrival: We arrived late due to a late flight. The host left vague and incorrect instructions for parking. The key provided didn’t work for the gate, and the actual parking was on the opposite side of the address given. We called five times but were repeatedly hung up on—extremely disrespectful. It took 30 extra minutes and help from a local to sort it out. • No towel refresh: After three days, we politely asked for fresh towels. The host said “tomorrow,” but when we asked again later (so we wouldn’t need to use dirty towels), she refused and responded rudely. • Broken dishwashers & hostile reaction: Both dishwashers were broken when we arrived (unplugged and beeping when plugged in). Only opened in May 2022! Extremely impressed! Very good air conditioning, which is in every room! The kitchen and front room are good size in the 2 bed option we rented! à fuire à tout prix ! au-delà de l'état vétuste (douche qui se fissure) et de la crasse (coussin, matelas, dégât des eaux non réparé...), une odeur de cigarette sur les draps insoutenable. Et quand on a osé demandé des draps propres, l'employée s'est mise à crier, a remporté les draps et nous a dit de sortir des appartements! nous avons contacté directement l'établissement via booking et ils ont été parfaitement odieux en nous disant qu'il fallait demander gentiment, que nous étions des clients affreux et ont menacé de nous mettre dehors. nous avons dû faire intervenir booking pour avoir des draps ! le lendemain alors que nous devions rester 3 nuits, l'établissement a annulé notre réservation au motif de "no show" ! évidemment c'est pour que nous ne puissions pas mettre de commentaire sur booking ;) en lisant les commentaires sur google j'ai compris que l'établissement n'en était pas à son coup d'essai concernant ce type de pratique.
