We have just returned from two weeks staying at the Milinij Hotel. This is a small, comfortable hotel in an excellent location. We had a room at the front of the hotel which gives a view over the promenade to the sea. It was a very quiet area and good for sleeping, especially when the shutters and door were closed – the air con was perfect. Although the room was not particularly big, there was plenty of storage space and a good sized shower room. The Wi-Fi in our room was excellent and it was good that the room safe was free of charge. The staff are all extremely courteous and friendly. Breakfast is the usual buffet style but with the addition of freshly made scrambled egg, or omelets etc. Dinner is chosen from a menu given out at breakfast and is waiter served, with the addition of a salad bar. There is a choice of two starters, six mains and two sweets, one of which was always ice cream. I enjoyed all of my meals although my husband would have preferred some of the meals to be slightly hotter. As the hotel is classed as 4* I do think there should be another choice of sweet, but this is a minor issue. As we enjoy getting about while on holiday i.e. not relying on trips, we found the location was very good. The bus station is a 15/20 minutes walk uphill. Buses go regularly to Split (49K) Omis (35K) or in the opposite direction to Podgora (15K) – all worth visiting. We found we could walk in either direction to lovely quieter places and get buses back. There is also a super fast catamaran that goes from the harbour daily to the island of Korcula and beyond. For 250K, this was worth every penny, as Korcula town is stunning – like a mini Dubrovnik without the crowds. ||I would recommend this hotel for people who are content with the simpler...
Read moreArrived late due to planes late arrival but hotel staff left us a plate of cold meats and cheeses which was really appreciated. Room 106 had a very good sized balcony facing the beach. Room was large with sofa and chair as well as a desk. ||||The shower room was large and well organised. Plenty of storeage space ang hangers in the wardrobe with safe.||||Reception staff were the best I'd ever experienced friendly knowledgeable and extremely cheerful . Well done. The area is quiet there are many bars and restaurants along the prom and the short walk into town. Scenery is fantastic! £30 boat trip a few yards to the left of hotel visits the islands of Hvar and Brac with lunch supplied was a very well worth trip. ||||All areas were kept clean. For someone who us very awkward about food I never had a bad meal. Sometimes service was a tad slow but then it depends how many people decide to eat at the same time. The chef is excellent.||||I definitely...
Read moreThis is a small hotel right on the seafront in makarska,it doesn't have a pool but as you are right on the beach you don't need one. What it does have is fantastic friendly knowledgeable staff, fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere. Nothing here is to much trouble, the hotel is spotlessly clean as are the spacious airy rooms. The breakfasts are buffet with a very good selection frequently replenished. We stayed half board and the evening meal was waiter service from a set menu (plenty of choice) lovingly created by the chef . Our room 205 was a larger front facing room fully air conditioned with a balcony overlooking the beach. It was lovely and quiet at night even though you are very close to bars and restaurants so you can get a good night's sleep. Would I recommend this hotel YES without a doubt it is one of the best I have stayed in whilst in Croatia and that is down to the staff. WELL DONE AND THANK YOU FOR A...
