Let me start by saying that the order was completely wrong, the young lady had problems understanding it and then the gentleman after her tried to verify whether she had placed it correctly, he mention everything we ordered, but we ordered one dish twice and only my husband got it, so in fact I got only fries and grilled vegetables :) The calamari was finally delivered after a few minutes with fries. At the start I asked if this dish had any extras and the lady said it only had spinach so I ordered additional fies, if I had known they were with fries I wouldn't have. Finally, these were the worst-made calamari I've ever eaten in Croatia, and I've been living here for 3 years now and I ate a lot of them, they were pale...

Amazing experience at Matteo – Makarska’s finest! I’ve visited Matteo several times, and every time the experience has been absolutely wonderful. The food is incredibly delicious, and the staff – especially the waiters – are extremely professional and friendly.

Even during a busy evening, the team managed to find a table for us, and when we asked to move to a quieter spot, the manager kindly and quickly arranged it with no problem. We really appreciated that – thank you so much!

Visited this place back in June and it was one of the best restaurants I had been to in Croatia, not only because of the food but also because of the great service. The food portions were perfect (definitely worth the money), the food itself tasted amazing; from the pasta, grilled squid and the pizza. The view was one of the best parts as you got to eat right next to the beautiful beach. But the staff were what really made this experience for us as our server was immensely friendly, he managed to really sell the restaurant to us as well as maintain a very friendly conversation about other things.
