Firstly note: THERE IS NO LIFT and there is no mention of that on booking.com description so I had to lug my heavy bag with no assistance up 4 flights of stairs. If I had known this, I’d have booked somewhere else to be honest. (Whilst at the premises, I checked other websites eg. agoda, hotels.com etc and the “no lift” fact always seems to be omitted in their description... not good).
I wasn’t even sure I was in the right place. The outside looks like a hostel rather than a hotel. The only sign is a blue one saying BHB but it looks like an apartment block or even office block(?) and there are other signs for other businesses to add to the confusion.
There are only 7 rooms in this hotel so I got there early with no chance of a getting my room until the other guests had checked out which is fine. They knew I was waiting, offered me breakfast and did a quick turnaround so I was in my room by 11:45. I still did the paperwork to check in while waiting but they tried to add an additional city tax. I had printed a confirmation email that stated the city tax was included in the price I’d already reserved. Apparently they can’t see when the reservation was made but they (Ana on reception) honoured the price I had printed. The fact that another guest was shouting about money being stolen from his room may have swayed their decision as to what to do with my fees but who knows.
Redeeming features- The room itself was nice. Just like the pics and spotless so I really can’t fault them on that side. Lovely shower. Comfy beds. Excellent blackout roller blinds which was needed for an early night and early start. The staff were very helpful when I needed some “house material” to clean a wound.
The evening receptionist felt the need to play dance/pop music loudly which was clearly heard in my room and you can hear people walking (seemed very heavy footed) around/talking etc at all hours so again, had that hostel feel.
Giving 3 stars for cleanliness, size of room and friendly staff but docked stars for the unnecessary noise level/lack of soundproofing and the repeated lack of mention that...
Read moreThe place maybe nice inside and others enjoyed their stay but the Manager was very extremely rude and abusive!! He was even harassing us!! When we arrived to the hotel we can’t even find the entrance , it was an old building and not well kept so surprise us as the pictures of the bedrooms looks very nice and well kept ! There were two handicapped in our group and they didn’t realized there’s no elevator and they cannot go up the stairs to the 3 rd floor so we told the staff that we are cancelling our reservation and we had a hard time finding another hotel due to this situation , we called the Manager the next day and explain to him and to our surprise he was threatening us ! Using abusive language ! That they will report us to the police and will not cooperate and refuse to communicate , we offered to pay the first day fee in fairness but he was not communicating , we reached out to Booking.com as we booked from them and they were making so many attempt reaching out to him and he refuse to return calls ! Finally the Booking.com was able to negotiate and he agreed to accept the payment ! The attitude of the Management is unacceptable !! To treat tourist and use abusive language is uncalled for ! We are group of senior citizen who travelled a lot in our lifetime and this is the first time we encountered such an extreme unacceptable behaviour...
Read moreStayed here for a week with the missus during our visit to split at the start of May 23. Hotel is situated about 15 mins steady paced walk from the old town and about 5 mins walk from the beach so fairly easy to get around from. ||The actual hotel is situated on one entire floor on the second elevation of an apartment building and its been really tastefully redecorated. Once you get past the door into the hotel area from the communal corridor it really is a big contrast to the entry and staircase! ||Hotel was spotless and our room was very clean and comfortable. No issues with the air conditioning which is great given Split was quite warm during our visit. Room was cleaned daily and we had fresh towels provided daily. Breakfast was also included and there was a good selection of fruit, cereal, tea, coffee amongst other staples on offer. Freshly cooked eggs to order where also available upon request. We took full advantage of being able to sit on the balcony during the warm sunny mornings while eating our breakfast. ||Staff where really friendly and helpful and i cant fault them at all. Lovely people.||Be aware that there is no lift to the hotel area so people with mobility issues this might not be the place for you.||Would i stay again?...
