Disappointing Service Despite a Lovely Room!

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. The room itself is lovely — very clean, comfortable, and with a great view. Housekeeping have also been great throughout our stay — polite, helpful, and doing their job well without issue. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the rest of the staff, which has really let the experience down.

From the moment we arrived, the overall attitude from the front desk and bar staff has been cold and unwelcoming. Not once have we been greeted with a simple hello when walking in — which, over several days, says a lot. Any time we’ve asked for anything, we’ve been made to feel like we’re putting them out. It’s as though unless you’re sitting with a laptop in front of you for business purposes, you’re not worth acknowledging.

We understand this is primarily a business hotel, but that doesn’t mean non-business guests should be ignored or treated with indifference. There’s a complete lack of basic hospitality here.

The drinks have been another major disappointment. The first coffee I ordered was borderline undrinkable — no flavour whatsoever. I gave it another try on a different day and was handed a cold coffee that was basically just milk (see attached photo). When I politely asked to leave it at reception for a moment so I could grab something from the car, the receptionist was unnecessarily rude, again reinforcing the overall unwelcoming tone of the hotel.

Room service is another point of frustration. Charging £8 just to bring anything to the room — even though staff are clearly using the lifts all day — feels unreasonable and opportunistic, rather than part of a genuine service offering.

There was an event during our stay where the hotel manager was present, and the change in atmosphere was instantly noticeable. Staff were suddenly attentive, polite, and drinks were brought up without issue. It’s obvious the manager expects high standards, and when he’s around, things run well. The issue is what happens when he’s not: the staff seem uninterested, unfriendly, and disengaged — as if doing the bare minimum until he returns.

We still have a few days left of our stay, and we’re now actively avoiding interacting with staff where possible, which is not how you want to feel on a trip. It’s a real shame, because the hotel itself has potential, but the guest experience is being ruined by inconsistent service and a lack of basic...

This boutique hotel was an easy walking distance to Diocletian’s Palace in a lovely part of Split. The hotel is modern and very clean. The breakfast that was included in our room charge was beautifully presented and there was a wide variety of food options, including many healthy choices. We chose to eat breakfast outside on the patio; however, there also is indoor seating. We usually never take advantage of free breakfasts at hotels; however, this one was so well presented and delicious that I have to highly recommend it.||We had a room with a nice view of trees and a slight view of the city beach. Most reviewers may not write about a hotel room’s windows; however, I want to do so in my review. The tinted window was big and it swung open to the full view of the trees and sky. It was fantastic! The bed and pillows were super comfy and the bathroom was large and in excellent condition. ||The hotel staff were outstanding. Our flight from Zagreb kept getting delayed and our arrival time into Split ended up being 3 am. Throughout all of our flight delays, I communicated with Frane at the front desk, who helped coordinate a car service to pick us up at the airport. The car service that was used was excellent and the driver was very friendly. This car service cost 80 euros but was well worth it, especially because of our unexpected late arrival. Other front desk staff and the restaurant staff were also very courteous and helpful during our stay.||The hotel is steps from the public beach so when we finally arrived at the hotel at 3:30 am, a quick walk to the beach was the perfect way to start our vacation in Split. There were other people on the beach and we felt very safe even though it was so late.||We didn’t have dinner at the hotel; however, we did get some desserts to bring up to our room. Delicious chocolate lava cake and chocolate orange cake!||Finally, the rooftop pool with great views of the ocean and Split! ||I rarely write reviews, but am writing one for Hotel Briig because it was...

I can't stress how amazing this hotel is. From the moment we stepped foot in, we knew this is the place we would like to stay. Contemporary modern architectural building and design, it's equipped with everything you may need. The room was spacious, amenities all available including a terrace, tub and shower, plenty of towels and complimentary water. Breakfast was on spot, fresh and anything was available upon asking for it. The staff here were amazing and super friendly and professional. At night, the bar and restaurant really had a wonderful vibe including top notch food that you'll just devour! Still not amazed? Well add a gym and roof top pool where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the scenary while tanning. What's even better, was the location! Acrosd the street is the famous beach for you to also enjoy and not even 10 minutes away walking from the old town and riva. Definitely a must stay-at hotel and will be visiting here again.

I was here for 3 nights and stayed in the deluxe sea view room. The service was superb and the selection of food on the menu was top quality. I wish I could have rated this hotel 5 star but my only feedback would be for staff to properly enforce covid-19 safety measures. There was lots of signage around the property about the rules but guests walked around the premises without face masks, staff wore them incorrectly and after travelling for business throughout this pandemic I could only compare my experience across other top 4-5 star properties in Europe. I hope they can lift the standard just a bit higher, seeing this opportunity as a business and realise this new safety norm we are all facing in hospitality and tourism.

Our stay at the Briig Boutique was extraordinary: this is a newly-built hotel with amazing amenities and luxurious design that can be seen in every detail. The rooms are light and spacious, beds are comfortable and the service is amazing – the staff is helpful and friendly, ready to recommend the best Split has to offer and knowledgeable on the topic. The entire place looks stunning, but our favourite part was definitely the rooftop pool – relaxing next to the pool with a cold drink and the skyline of the city. Pure relaxation, definitely recommending Brigg!
