Hostel Elli — Hotel in Grad Split

Hospital-style: It's clean and organized but that's it again. Everything's bare minimum .... cheap and cold interior design, tiny windows, common area without windows at all, no place for storing bikes safely, nothing more than what's strictly required. Same holds true for the staff .... they behave in a correct way but don't expect any particular warmth or to be allowed take a shower or use the kitchen after you checked out. Restaurant recommendation of the owner led straight into what very much seemed to be a tourist trap. We had a medical emergency that demanded we needed to be in Split after the last ferry from Hvar had already departed. We had no accomodation, scared in a new city and a taxi driver was hunting us. At 1.30am in the morning we called Hostel Elli as a last ditch effort to secure a place to sleep and we were eternally grateful to hear the host answer the phone. A life saver in every sense of the word we were very happy with our stay at Hostel Elli, not just the late check in but also the promptness of getting our rooms ready and the cleanliness of the place. Room is decent and there’s a large cabinet for storage - with key. There’s aircon in the room too, and you get a code to enter the room.

The guy receptionist is friendly and helpful! You can also borrow hairdryer from the counter.

It’s a bit far from the city but you can take a bus.

I didn’t like that the shower only lasts for 15 seconds and you had to keep pressing.

The kitchen has only one stovetop so you have to wait if someone else is cooking, but they have Netflix to watch!!! It’s a lovely space where you can...
