We stayed in Split 3 nights to enjoy city life but still have access to beaches after a week at Hvar. ||This hotel is charming with a character.|The staff that works at the hotel and in the restaurant really do their best to make you feel at home and the breakfast that is served to your table gives you everything from fruit plates to bread, cheese, ham and yoghurt and if you want they bring you fresh made omelet etc. as you wish.||We also ate at the restaurant one night. It was a real good atmosphere but you need to like the family style way of picking up orders in a irregular order from one table to another, serving directly when food is ready and perhaps not everything at the same time and other guests that at least when we where there suddenly started to sing together. But this was really something positive but a little different :) ||Rooms are nice. Had some issues with our safe but got very good help to fix it.||To summarise. Charming is the word and I would for sure comeback. ||Walking distance to the town which was good for me and my girlfriend since we preferred close access to the beach. Uber is however really cheap if walking is not...
Read moreWe were in the soneva room, bed and breakfast. Very clean, beautifully decorated in a traditional rustic style. Loved the big bathroom and big shower, smart tv to connect our phones and netflix account, good ac. The hosts are nice and helpful. ||The only inconvenient we had was at the arrival, when we got to the accomodation after 12 am because our flight had a delay, the door and gate were closed and there was no note to say what phone no to call or that we should try the back doors. So had a panic that we were fooled by lastminute.com again because they already fooled us with the car rental in the airport, so we were thinking to look for another accomodation. Luckly we realized after a while that we should try to see if there is a back entrance and found the security man that let us in and told us that they lock the door after 12. All the guests have a key to the gate when they receive the room key. Except this misscommunication we had a lovely stay and i would go there again, very good food.||Also it s close to Split city centre 20 min walk, and there are bus routes too or uber taxi. There is a beach close as well, aprox 10 min away...
Read moreArrived in Split without any hotel reservations. Called the Palma Rooms seeing their rooms were reasonably priced as compared to other hotels in the area. After a brief chat we were instructed to take the airport shuttle bus downtown and he would send a driver to pick us up from there. Arrived at the hotel/tavern and escorted to the front desk where Zora took good care of us. A quick change in clothes and downstairs for drinks and some food. Welcomed like family by the staff and enjoyed the evening eating and drinking. We planned to stay 2 days but turned into 4 seeing the great proximity to the beach and downtown. Rooms are very quiet, with good A/C and comfortable beds. We were given the "Split Room" which had two bathrooms that came in handy in the mornings. For more information on local sites or tours in the area ask to speak to Jakov (owner's son) he was a big help with transportation to and from as well as making sure we had a packed breakfast/lunch for the day. Lastly the morning breakfast (that comes with the room) is over the top with a selection of fruit/nuts/breads/cheese/meat/dairy/juice and...
