Exceptional food!!! The food is to die for!!!! We had the food at our Hotel (Hotel Posh) as they partner with each other. We had food from them twice as we liked it so much the first time. Every single dish is poetry, the meat is on point, the sauces are fabulous, we were in heaven and will recommend this place to anyone visiting Split! The food is also nicely placed on the plate, the eye and stomach are being spoiled! We had as Starter Cold smoked beefsteak tartare with butter and toasted bread Mains Veal French rack with truffled potatoes purée... that truffle sauce... YUM Slow cooked leg of lamb with cold couscous salad ... this lamb.. soooo good Oxtail and curd ravioli, celery purée, demi-glace sauce

As we wanted some veggies we also ordered Grilled vegetables and the French fries, taste like my grandma used to do them, unbelievable

As desert we tried Lava cake... yummiii The ice cream that came with it was amazing, you could taste the vanilla.

When ordering from your hotel, in our case Hotel Posh two-three minutes away: One thing they can work on is the temperature of the dishes, that the plates are pre heated or the food is being kept warm at the hotel so you do not get starter and main course at once. However, even if the food was not hot, still warmish,...

Well-trained staff and tasty food – but overpriced for Split

We visited Restoran Kadena as a family and were given a calm and beautiful table with a lovely view. The staff – at least the one who served us – was professional, well-trained, and contributed to a pleasant dining experience.

We ordered a whole fish for the family, and it was well-prepared and tasted very good. Even our youngest child enjoyed it. To accompany the meal, we ordered a bottle of wine from Skradin for €58, which unfortunately did not live up to our expectations.

The food and service were both good, and the atmosphere was elegant and relaxed. However, when compared to other restaurants in Split offering similar or even better food quality, the prices at Kadena felt significantly overpriced.

We were a family of four, and for one bottle of wine, one iced tea, and two bottles of water – along with the food – we paid €310. That is extremely expensive, especially for being in Split, where you can have excellent meals for far less.

If the prices had been more aligned with the overall experience, I would have gladly given 4 stars. But as it stands, the high cost overshadows the otherwise positive...

We had a truly disappointing experience at Kadena. The food was far below expectations, bland and overpriced for what you get. Service was under any reasonable standard: we waited far too long, staff seemed uninterested, and when we wanted to order dessert we were abruptly told the kitchen had “just closed” only minutes before. No one bothered to ask us beforehand if we would like dessert.

When we mentioned we were unhappy with the service, the response from one waiter (with face tattoos) was shockingly aggressive: “just go, just leave the restaurant,” said in a hostile tone with intimidating looks. By the end of the night we felt unsafe and extremely unwelcome.

Reading other reviews afterwards, it seems this kind of arrogance, rudeness, and lack of hospitality is not unusual here. Definitely not what you’d expect from a restaurant that claims to be “fine dining” in Split.

If you value good food, professional service, or simply being treated with respect, I would strongly recommend...

Good starters, good seafood, reasonable duck. Had the smoked beef tartare and the white fish ceviche to start. They were both very good, the smoked beef tartare was a standout. For mains we had the grilled octopus and the duck breast. The octopus was also very good the duck missed the mark. Two slices of chewy duck was a bit disappointing - the mash potato and mushrooms shouldn't have been the star of the dish. Service was very good however and it's a lovely place to have dinner overlooking the water (although they need to trim some of the garden back to open up the view a bit more.) Maybe a bit harsh of me to take a star off for the duck as it can be a hard protein to cook correctly, however I do feel a multiple Michelin star restaurant should be able to get it right.
