Guest House Blue — Hotel in Grad Zadar

My stay here has been the worst experience I have had in all the years I have been traveling the world and I do not recommend it at all, I hope I have enough characters to detail my lousy stay.

First of all, the studio is in a small 3 floors building with tiny wooden stairs and wooden ceilings/floors that squeak with every move you make. So if you have the misfortune (as we did) that the upstairs studio is occupied you will hear every movement (even during the night you could hear every turn in the bed). If that wasn't enough to make for a lousy night, the window (attached picture) next to one of the beds is located next to a street light, with blinds that do not block any of that light, resulting in it seeming like daylight all night, the light is so intense that it illuminates everything and obviously there is no way to turn it off since it is street lighting. If this were not enough, just below is a bar, where people scream, sing and the music does not stop until the wee hours of the morning, the windows of course are not soundproofed, so you clearly hear the whole party.

You may ask yourself that if I had such a bad time why didn't I leave, right? Easy, when we tried to cancel as soon as we realized this situation during our first night and communicated to Booking.com customer service, the accommodation denied the cancellation, so sleeping was obviously impossible for us.

The next day after I requested, we were moved to a triple studio, it is difficult to say which of the two studios is worse... it has a tiny and unsafe staircase to access the bed upstairs (which had no bedding by the way), dirty walls and the space is super small and uncomfortable and the noise from the bar is equally heard. MAKE YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS...

Hostel Guest House Blue znajduje się w najstarszej części Zadaru. To maleńkie kamieniczki w plątaninie wąziutkich uliczek. Wewnątrz kamieniczek znajdują się maleńkie podwóreczka, bardziej przypominające kominy😃 Tworzy to niepowtarzalny południowy klimat, jednak absolutnie nie sprzyja temu, żeby się wyspać. My dostaliśmy pokój na parterze z oknem na podwórko i drugim oknem w łazience bezpośrednio na uliczkę. Myjąc zęby w łazience można spojrzeć prosto w oczy przechodzącym ludziom. Pokój i łazienka są po generalnym remoncie, w pokoju jest duże, podwójne łóżko i wyposażony we wszystko aneks kuchenny. To duże plusy. Jest telewizor, lodówka, a w łazience suszarka do włosów. Jest bardzo czysto, a do dyspozycji gości jest nawet kawa i cukier. Wyposażenie jest naprawdę na 6-tkę. Niestety w pokoju panuje silny zapach stęchlizny, co jest spowodowane tym, że dom ma pewnie ze 300 lat. Wietrzenie przez okno na podwórko nic nie daje, bo tam też jest wilgoć i śmierdzi. W pokoju jest co prawda sprawna klimatyzacja, ale śmierdzi niepranymi skarpetami, co jeszcze wzmaga zaduch. Nie używaliśmy jej niestety przez 3 dni. Nie dało się ☹️ Przez okno w łazience wpada zapach smażonego oleju z knajpki, która znajduje się dosłownie 5 metrów dalej. Na maleńkim podwóreczku chodzą klimatyzacje z innych pokoi, co mocno słychać. A z uliczki i innych uliczek słychać hałasy ludzi, czy szczekające psy. Około godziny 2.00 w nocy wszystko cichnie, ale zostaje szum klimatyzacji z podwórka i stukanie kapiącej z nich wody. Ale to nie wszystko. W kamieniczce stropy są z desek i właśnie o tej porze słychać każdy szmer i stuknięcie osób, które mieszkają nad nami i akurat wracają do domu z imprezy. Jeśli ktoś imprezuje do późna, a potem śpi do południa, to idealne miejsce na nocleg. Dla osób chodzących spać wcześniej i wstających wcześniej, takich jak my, niestety to średnio udany wybór. Na 5 gwiazdek możemy dać...

The room was sooo small, when we walked in it smelled like mold, the restroom smelled like urine. It was disgusting, even when we tried to close the door, the smell was all over the room. There was no room to move or properly walk, it was so tight we kept getting hit by the kitchen counter and the beds. The shower holder was broken, the blankets were dirty and stained, and at night was very loud.. we weren't able to sleep during the night, we literally had to go to the beach to be able to take few hours of sleep.
