Our family stayed in a private 5 bed room. It was our first hostel experience and I wasn’t sure what to expect but it surpassed our expectations. The hostel was exceptionally clean and the outside bar area was large and lovely of an evening with all the lights. Prices were good too. I have to give a special mention to Maria on reception. She was very friendly at check-in but also came to our aid and I can’t thank her enough. My husband had parked our hire car in a loading space nearby as it was very difficult to find parking. I wasn’t sure if we were allowed to park there so asked Maria. She advised us to move the car as we may get fined . My husband went to move the car but it had already been towed away. It was 6 pm and we were leaving at 4.00 am for the airport. We were very distressed but Maria knew where the car would have been taken and gave us a map to find it. Thankfully the towing station was open til 10pm so we were able to get the hire car back in time. She also explained where to find the post office to pay the fine. It wasn’t the greatest last night to spend in Zadar but Maria helped to ease our situation. This hostel has great reviews which is why we stayed in the first place but having stayed there and experiencing it for ourselves then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone. It deserves all its plaudits and thanks...
Read moreWarning: Don't trust the hostel's staff and cleaning personnel here. I do not recommend this hostel. I had to report to the police because I lost some of my belongings after they cleaned my bed before the check-out date, and I suspect foul play.
The hostel was confused about my check-out date, and after cleaning my bed one day before my scheduled check-out, some of my personal items, including a swimsuit, bath towel, underwear, and charging cable, went missing when I returned at the end of the day. I had been staying there for several nights, and my belongings disappeared only after they cleaned my bed; before that, everything was fine.
I inquired about the whereabouts of my belongings, and they repeatedly claimed not to have seen them, suggesting that someone in the room might have taken them. However, I can't help but wonder if the cleaning personnel might be involved, either intentionally stealing or accidentally throwing away my personal items. It's hard to believe that anyone would want to take used underwear, which makes their explanation seem suspicious. It appears highly likely that they made a mistake and didn't want to admit their error or make amends...
Read moreClean place to stay with an elevator. The kitchen consisted of a sink, a hot pot, a microwave and refrigerator with no stove or cooktop - probably because they run a bar and restaurant in the same building. No recycling and kitchen/common room was small. My bed was in a 4 bedroom and you need to pay 10€ for a locker key, but can use the closet for no fee. My room was on the 3rd floor, so half of the room was slanted, making the usable space very limited. My bed also had the stairs to both upper bunks, which further limited my area around the bed. Hand washing and drying was a challenge because there is no clothes rack for drying and the beds are deaigned to not provide that option. There was a lot of street noise at night (drunks) and the 1 window stayed closed making the room very warm at night. The female toilet had "debris" around the rim for my entire 3 day stay, so not cleaned. Same with the trash in my room. Was not emptied during my stay, but vacated bed linens appeared to have been changed. Floor was also not vacuumed. I probably wluld only stay 1 night if I were back in this...
