Based upon the excellent rating on Booking.com and also the central location, we decided to book two night’s accommodation at Peninsular Luxury Rooms.||||Peninsula Luxury Rooms (rated 4 stars) is ideally located in the old town of Zadar and is in close walking distance to all sites, including restaurants and cafes. All rooms are located on the first floor, up one flight of stairs. ||||We stayed in a “Comfort Double Room” which was extremely modern, spacious, spotlessly clean and quiet. Furnishings included a seating area, air-conditioning, fridge and safe along with free Wi-Fi access which worked efficiently. The room included a King Bed and also coffee & tea making facilities with complimentary tea /coffee provided.||||The bathroom was similarly extremely modern and spacious and included a rain shower head (as well as traditional shower head) along with hairdryer and free toiletries. An interesting feature of the bathroom is that the shower has a see through timber shutter arrangement adjacent to the bedroom.||||Peninsula Luxury Rooms has no reception, but this is not a problem as the Managing Agents are a couple of minutes away and following a phone call will quickly arrive and provide keys, breakfast vouchers, maps etc. Ideally, the Managing Agents should be advised in advance of one’s expected arrival time.||||The Managing Agents provide breakfast vouchers for Restaurant Tinel which is within 100 metres of the room. Breakfast is available between 8am and 11am and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast which comprised orange juice, cold meats / cheeses, eggs cooked to one’s choice, pita bread and tea / coffee.||||Parking is only available outside the old town and vehicles can be either parked on roadside meters or in any of the designated car parking areas. In all instances (even if in a designated car park), parking can generally only be paid for via coin meters (i.e. no notes or credit cards) at a charge of 4 Kuna per hour from 8am to 10pm, so one needs to have a good supply of coins available in advance of arrival. ||||If arriving by car, the best place to park is in the designated car park off the street called Kresimira Cosica which is near the main entrance gate to the old town (i.e. Land Gate). From there, one then has to only walk a couple of hundred metres straight up the street and Peninsula Luxury Rooms are on the left.||||Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend for anyone looking for both extremely modern and comfortable accommodation in a great location to explore the old town. Additionally, the Managing Agent accepts most...
Read moreThe most wonderful place I have ever stayed in. The decor is amazing, I specially love the color purple. A very well preserved building in the heart and soul of the old town. Extremely safe area and warm hospitality. Since I make this trip every year, I always book in advance to make sure I get this specific room because it has been the best apartment I have been so far since the first time I visited zadar. Great for solo travelers as myself and honeymooners if you’re looking for a cozy apartment that feels like home. The agents were very friendly and accommodates to all my needs no matter the hour of the day. I had an issue with parking and this is relatively a common concern in the entire coast since there are no private parking within old town itself. However the agents ensured I find a cozy spot to park my rented Peugeot which was 2mins from the apartment. Worth the walk because you get the wave at the poodle selling seashells with his master on a parked boat in the marina. Remembering my details, they arranged a little heartfelt birthday surprise in my room this year. And honestly was the best birthday ever. I can’t wait to...
