My main complaint here was the food. The service was friendly and the garden had nice seats and was shady and pleasant, although I'm never a massive fan of AstroTurf.
I ordered the squid ink risotto and it was terrible. The rice was massively undercooked which meant it was crunchy. There were little bits of what I assume was squid in it, but they were inconsistently cooked and didn't have the nice texture well cooked squid has. The taste was fine, had it been prepared correctly it would have been perfectly pleasant.
When the very nice waiter asked at the end of my meal (which I ate maybe 1/3 of) if everything was okay I told him that it was undercooked, but beyond apologising, nothing else was done, which to me indicates that this is a bit of a tourist trap and they aren't too fussed by the food quality. If I'd been telling him something he didn't already know (backed up by a nearly full plate of food) I feel like he would have offered to replace the dish, offered me something else from the menu or even possibly offered a refund.
There are some very nice restaurants not very far away, and given that this was one of the more expensive meals I had (I did have a glass of wine and a large bottle of sparkling water) I would really not...
Read moreFor lunch we had meatplatter sirloin steak and traditional dish with octopus and cuttlefish. The steak can be given for how done it needed to be seared. The taste of the grill gave a unique and tender expierence and made blended perfectly with the salt and pepper. The traditional dish was perfect in taste and wasnt overpowered, too fishy or rubbery which make every bite an expierence worth trying.
The service and staff was by far the most enjoyable and one of the best i have expierenced. Professional and very kind.
The place when entered felt like you were entering a home and suddenly exited on the other side which gave a different atmosphere as it felt like Narnia (probably the reason its called 'Misterija' (mystery)) it was perfect for hiding away from the scorching sun and away from the crowd. Highly...
Read moreFood was pretty nice and the serving of grilled vegetables was rather tasty but the octopus needed some more salt and there was too much oil dripping onto the plate. Price for the quantity I would say is kind of high, even for Zadar. The atmosphere was ok - but I think it depends where you sit. Sitting outside on the street probably had a better atmosphere than in the smokey backyard, but eh, it's Zadar and when it is crowded in the summer, you take what you can get. Staff seemed really stressed out on the day I visited. Pomalo, everyone. The one waiter I had was singing and smiling most of the time, and the host at the front was also very nice- if you're lucky, you will find some happy and accommodating...
