We had the most fantastic stay at Hotel Vitar — truly perfect in every way. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything exceeded our expectations.||Room & views||Our room was a great size, clean, modern, and well-equipped. We highly recommend booking a sea-view balcony as it’s a wonderful spot to relax and watch the world go by.||Breakfast ||Breakfast was a real highlight. A generous and high-quality buffet complemented by a small à la carte menu made for the perfect start to each day. ||Special shoutout to Goran and Israel for their consistently warm, professional service. Goran even remembered our coffee order (cappuccinos with an extra shot!) after just a couple of mornings. This was a thoughtful touch that made us feel truly looked after.||Housekeeping||The housekeeping was impeccable. Our room was refreshed daily with care and attention to detail. The maid even picked up on our coffee preferences and started leaving us extra pods for the in-room machine. Again, that personal touch really made a difference.||Rooftop terrace & pool||The rooftop terrace was a real treat. Proper grown-up luxury. The pool, sauna and jacuzzi were spotless and well maintained. We loved that sunbeds were always available without any of that bed-reserving nonsense. Everything was peaceful, clean, and relaxing. The terrace boasted an excellent food and drinks service which is good value too. ||Gym||We only used the gym facilities once (it was a holiday after all!), but the gym spaces had everything we needed for a good cardio and weights session. Clean, well-equipped, and a nice bonus to watch the world go by while burning off an icecream or twenty!||Location||The location of the hotel was ideal — quiet and peaceful, yet just a short walk to both Bol town in one direction and the famous Zlatni Rat beach in the other. We were never disturbed by noise, whether relaxing by the pool or sleeping at night.||Reception||Reception staff were exceptional — friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. Whether it was booking restaurants, organising trips, or offering local advice, nothing was too much trouble. You could really tell they care about the hotel and its guests.||Transport||If you’re planning a trip to Brač, a couple of recommendations to make things run smoother:||- Check the ferry times to Bol in advance. Ferries don’t run late into the evening, so timing is key. A quick email to the hotel reception can be really helpful with this too as the online timetable is confusing. One option is to stay a night in Split (which is well worth a visit in its own right) and catch an early ferry the next day. Alternatively, try to book flights or connections that get you into Split early enough to make the same-day ferry.||- Once you arrive in Bol, the hotel is just a short walk away, but it’s up a fairly steep hill and somehow it feels steeper the more luggage you’re carrying! If you’ve got suitcases, be ready for a (very doable but) hot, 10-minute uphill push or consider grabbing a cab. Either way, you’ll be rewarded with a delicious welcome cocktail at the hotel when you arrive.||Final Thoughts 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟||Hotel Vitar is an absolute gem. It’s a place where adults unwind and everything shines.||It gets a 10/10 from us and we highly recommend it. We will definitely be back — and not just once, if we can help it! Fingers crossed they have a loyalty scheme …||A Couple of (very minor) suggestions||These aren’t criticisms — just gentle suggestions for the hotel.||We didn’t love the coffee served in the hotel, but honestly, we struggled to find good coffee to our taste anywhere in town. A better Italian-style espresso option would elevate an already great offering.||Hanging space in the wardrobe was a little limited (10 hangers), but we were staying nearly two weeks and probably overpacked. We’re sure more hangers would’ve been happily provided...
Read moreHotel with great rooftop facilities but left feeling disappointed in my overall stay.
I always do a lot of research before booking and chose this hotel based on amenities and reviews. We were visiting for our 10 year anniversary so I wanted to ensure it was perfect as we also actually got engaged this holiday. I found the hotel on booking. com, but I always try book direct so the hotel gets all of the money and also sometimes you get perks too. I found the price of 125euro but on the hotels website they said email for the best deal so I did. They came back with a price of 145euro and put the prices up which I found frustrating. After speaking with the hotel it was resolved and I booked for the original price so not a big deal but it set the scene. I did lose money though as booking.com offer cashback so I would be careful of this as booking direct is not always best.
The selling point of this hotel is the roof which is actually amazing and probably the best in Bol. The rooms are also modern and clean and the staff are friendly. The breakfast is average but acceptable. We booked a mountain view room which I would say is quite dark with little natural light although the layout is good. As the room didn't have much light we paid to upgrade to a Seaview which the lady showed us before we made the decision. If staying, I would recommend choosing a sea view room.
Now on to the issues, a good nights sleep is really important to me so if you are a light sleeper I would not recommend this hotel. There were issues with the drainage system which is really loud and gargle on through the sink and toilet. It kept us up from 5am on our last night as above were leaving early and the drainage noises continued until 8am, then the cleaners came in banging around and hoovering which is too early. I showed a video of the noises to the lady from reception as the drainage is an issue and also smells kept coming from the toilet and she said she would get the cleaners to check later which wasn't helpful to us as we were leaving that day.
As mentioned the pool area is a solid 5/5 and a real attribute to the hotel, but there is no bar serving food/drinks so you always have to leave for lunch and come back which is not ideal.
Lastly, I booked this hotel for a special occasion and had seen lots of reviews on the hotel doing nice stuff such as decorating the room and leaving gestures for the celebration. The hotel did nothing for us which I found disappointing after seeing other people's reviews as this anniversary was very special to us and a big milestone.
So yeah overall amazing facilities but left feeling tired and disappointed I paid to upgrade to a room...
Read moreI wish I could give more stars!! We had the most perfect stay at Lifestyle Hotel Vitar. The kindest staff!!! We stayed for a week and enjoyed it so much. If we revisit Brač we will without a doubt stay here. Cannot recommend it enough! Summed up: delicious breakfast, super clean, the kindest and most helpful staff, delicious breakfast, excellent location (near restaurants etc and the famous Zlatni rat beach).
The breakfast was delicious and had everything we could have wanted: various bread/baked goods, cut-up fruit (watermelon, grapes, peach etc), eggs (both fried and scrambled), cheese, fresh pressed orange juice and much more. Could also order iced coffee, hot cocoa and more.
We got towels for the pool and could switch these out as much as we wanted (free of charge). One night it was raining a bit and the staff placed umbrellas by the door that we could loan (free of charge). We could also order drinks and some food to the rooftop (paid for this). We rented a car and the hotel had a parking garage (free parking), and in any case that the garage was full (which we did not experience), there was a parking lot right by the hotel (also free of charge). The hotel was super clean. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Very good airconditioning, which provided crisp fresh inside air. Minor downsides: the roof top terrace was quite windy so it could get a bit cold while sunbathing (in June), and there is some noise from nearby traffic. However, as stated, there were minor "faults".
During our stay, my boyfriend celebrated his birthday and the staff surprised him with home-baked cake, balloons and a card!! (None of us had said anything about his birthday) We would never expect this, but it was suuch a kind and nice surprise!! And the cake was the most delicious cake I've ever eaten!!
I want to thank the staff again for the nicest birthday surprise for my boyfriend, the excellent service and for making our holiday so very nice!! 🥰
When visiting Brač, I recommend staying at this hotel, renting a car to explore the other small towns on Brač (we used Brattia rental/Brač rent a car, which was dropped off in Milna, where we arrived, and we were super happy with their service), doing a wine tour at Stina winery (right down the street from this hotel) and of course visiting...
