Last night, we returned to Restaurant Ranc in Bol—and once again, it was a truly memorable experience. The moment we stepped in, we were greeted by the warm, relaxed atmosphere that Ranc is known for. The cuisine was top-tier: fresh, locally-sourced, and exquisitely prepared. We savored a seafood platter for two, showcasing juicy shellfish, perfectly grilled calamari, and seasonal sides that spoke to the kitchen’s care and dedication . Every bite was a testament to Ranc’s reputation for outstanding Mediterranean fare.

The staff were truly exceptional—attentive, friendly, and professional without ever feeling over the top. This level of hospitality is often highlighted by diners, and we experienced it ourselves: discreet yet highly responsive service, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask.

This is a pretentious place that thinks very highly of itself compared to the laid back vibes of a lot of the island. My opinion is somewhat jaded by arguably the worst waiter I’ve ever experienced. He should not be in hospitality. Who wants to feel like the restaurant is doing you a favor by allowing you to spend $200 to eat there? Service is 0 stars. It’s amazing how bad service can affect an experience

They had almost zero gluten free options for my partner, so avoid if you have a gluten allergy. What is worse is the waiter did not seek to take her allergy seriously and made her feel weird for asking.

To be fair, the food was pretty good. My risotto was simple but tasty. We didn’t get the fish because it was is going to cost $60-80. Pretty outrageous. Food is 4 stars.

We came to Ranc Restaurant and ordered the grilled lamb and the carbonara. After reading glowing reviews of the lamb, our expectations were high — and it absolutely delivered. The lamb was incredible: tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I genuinely wish there had been more, not because the portion was small (it wasn’t), but because I could’ve kept eating it forever.

The carbonara didn’t have as much buzz in the reviews, so we went in hopeful — and were pleasantly surprised. It was very solid. Not the best I’ve ever had, but definitely a respectable and satisfying plate. They also serve complimentary bread with a garlic olive oil dip, which was a great touch, and the lamb came with fries.

This was the first meal on the island where I felt fully satisfied — both in terms of quality and portion size. The staff were also warm, smiling, and genuinely lovely, which made the experience even better. If I had another day here, I’d come back in...
