Let me tell you about my experience of Pizzeria Navis...
From reading previous reviews and external appearance, Pizzeria Navis looked like a great place for the last night of our holiday.
We walked in to a nice setting with a chilled out ambience...we continued to walk and walk before arriving in the dark realms of Mordor to the rear of the restaurant. The rear of the restaurant can only be described as a set for a budget remake of game of thrones set in Dubai. The temperature was unbearable with all of us sweating like pigs, this wasn’t made any better by the medieval table and chairs so heavy the movement of pulling out a chair felt like I’d had a personal training session with the rock.
Once we’d sat down, the waitress began to hand out menus, well 2 out of 8 ain’t bad, they quite simply didnt have enough. It was at this point, in a pizzeria, the sort of place which specialise in making pizzas quickly, in a hand crafted pizza oven...that there was a 45 minute wait on pizzas, we accepted this and began to fight to get a look in at our two menus.
We received our drinks and fair due, the beer was lovely, cold and crisp as well as arriving quickly.
As we were finalising our menu choices we were suddenly involved in a set change when the lighting turned to strobe mode, who would’ve thought that you could enjoy a game of thrones and Kevin and Perry experience with dinner...genius really!
It was at the point we well and truly knew “we f*cked up”.
We requested the bill, had to chase the waitress up for the bill, finally paid the bill and walked out more disappointed than your mum after you come home drunk for the first time.
As previously mentioned, a 45 minute wait for pizzas wouldn’t have been an issue, this is normal for a busy restaurant but as we walked out not a single person in that restaurant was eating, not a soul, very odd.
But anyway, id love to review the food but we didn’t eat in the end...just following suit of everyone else in there I guess.
Overall, it’s...
Read moreVery poor experience! Group of 6 of us arrived to be shown to ‘our’ table, which could only fit 4. The waiter was very irate when we asked to move to a table with a bit more room, as it wasn’t ‘his’ table!
Order a Carafe if house white wine, which was served at room temp, we were then offered ice to cool the wine down.
Now onto the food, ordered the anchovies starter, which turned out to be a 2 tiny slithers of anchovie & was completely tasteless. The dish should be renamed ‘essence of anchovie’
Ok, so it’s a specialist pizza restaurant, so you would think that asking for a calzone pizza wouldn’t be a problem? I was wrong, the waitress advised this wasn’t possible, so spaghetti bolognaise it is then, surely you couldn’t get that wrong? What arrived was completely bland minced beef, no hint of tomato/garlic/salt/herbs, it was very poor.
As we finished our meal, the waitress asked if everything had been ok? I explained the above & that she should feed this back to the manager, to ensure future guests didn’t have the same experience. Her response was to make no offer of a discount, apology or acknowledgement that she would pass the info on, just a simply, shrug of the shoulders.
Avoid this ‘restaurant’ like the plague,...

My girlfriend and I spent three days in Brač this past May. We chose to stay near Bol as we wanted to visit the Golden Horn and climb Vida Gora.
We lucked out with amazing accommodations at the Lifestyle Hotel Vitar. We checked in late and the receptionist recommended Pizzeria Navis as the hotel kitchen was closed.
We weren’t expecting much as the island was fairly quiet in May and Navis was one of the only places open.
For “tiny island in the Adriatic Sea, off-season pizza” this place was really good and deserves five stars.
We ordered: Carbonara Pasta Prosciutto Pizza, A Croatian cheesy bread “appetizer”
Total came out to just over $20 USD and we had enough leftovers for a full lunch the next day.
(Bonus points) - They didn’t have disposable utensils and the hotel kitchen had already closed for the night so they packaged our meal with real silverware and napkins and just said to bring it back...
