I arrived here in the end of September 2019 and I'm staying until February 2020 because I am an Erasmus student for European University of Cyprus. So I finally decided to give NEX hostel a review, here are my first impressions that are still accurate.||||Excellent location to explore Nicosia city centre. 10 minutes walk to Solomou square (central bus station), 20 minutes walk to the main checkpoint. ||||Staff here is super nice and helpful. When I arrived, the owner, Elias, explained all the details I wanted to know and showed the best and the hardest to find places to explore in Nicosia. Kumas and the other guy with a very hard to remember name, were extremely helpful as well and answered all my questions while Elias wasn't there. ||||It is always very clean and fresh. The rooms are big and even more spacious than might seem from the pictures. The beds are much better than in any hostel or hotel I've ever been to.||||Free food in NEX hostel is amazing! Kitchen is fully equipped. WiFi is surprisingly good and stable for a hostel. 50 meters away is a 24/7 open bakery that also works as a takeaway restaurant. ||||NEX hostel is a good place if you want to explore the whole island because it's very easy to do by bus. Limassol is one hour away, Larnaca is 40 minutes. Troodos mountain is 1 hour and 10 minutes, Kyrenia is 40 minutes, and Famagusta...

!!!!Bedbugs!!!!! 24/10/23 The room I was shown had bedbugs! There were black dots under the mattress everywhere and I even found a bedbug to show the staff - who didn't take me serious at all and rubbed the bedbug I showed him into a crack in the wall to hide it. He even wanted me to pay extra then to wash my clothes that I had in the room!! Absolutely ridiculous, there were still people staying in the room and he did nothing, thats how they spread so easily!!

Edit: Since the owners have messaged me twice now to tell me they still don't believe there were bedbugs: I switched rooms immediately when I saw bedbugs in the 4 bed dorm (room 3). They moved me to a 8 bed dorm on a different floor which i checked as well and didn't find any bed bugs there. I stayed in this dorm since I didn't have many options during my stay in Nikosia. I told the staff multiple times to get the room checked, since there were still other people in there, who didn't know about the issues. They didn't do anything and later messged me that "our pest control company is cleaning and spraying in a monthly base" - modern bedbugs are immune to spraying!! and I do not want to find out what this room will look like in a months time.
