Our 3rd stay at the Mandali, and sadly, probably the last unless things improve.||PROS||Location - Amazing…just a short stroll to the beach, the pier and boardwalk that takes you both up and down the coast. And also just a little uphill walk to the main strip. Location is probably the best thing about hotel if I’m honest.||Pool - good size with steps down and not too deep, getting lengths in was certainly doable. Decidedly cold first thing, but does warm up after a few hours.||Cleanliness - Great - public areas and rooms are kept spotlessly clean by maids.||Friendliness of staff - most of the staff are friendly and welcoming. ||Disability access - Great - no problems accessing hotel both interior and exterior.||CONS||Breakfast - I never thought anywhere could muck up a breakfast but they smashed it this year!|When you only ever have bread/buns with butter and jam on holiday, you don’t ever think there’ll be an issue. This year we were offered loaves of bread which had to be sliced, so you had a germ infested hand holding one end whilst, slicing the other end. Just no!!! Said bread was drier than the Sahara to the point trying to swallow it, was really difficult. A few days later we had bread buns that were so hard, they’d have passed for rocks! As I didn’t fancy a visit to dentist, we gave up and stopped going to breakfast full stop! This is basic stuff and inexcusable that they didn’t get it right.||Restaurant - if you choose to sit outside, be prepared for the selfish blighters who can’t go half an hour without lighting up a cigarette. A sure fire way to spoil someone’s meal. No need for it!||Sunbeds - a high proportion of sunbeds are damaged and pose a safety risk for anyone using them. This has been brought up, but hotel management don’t appear to be interested, and seemingly neither are TUI or JET2 who surely should be inspecting properties more thoroughly? |The damage is either cracked or fully broken struts underneath or missing elastic straps, with the potential for someone to seriously hurt themselves. This is something that management/maintenance should be on top of and clearing away beds that are a danger.||Pool - deep end is missing lots of tiles and the loose ones we saw, had been attempted to be stuck down with silicone adhesive as opposed to grout. It was also full of sand debris the entire time, so pool vacuum (if they have one) is clearly ineffective. Pool shaded for most of the afternoon, due to its position.||Rooms ending in 01 and 02 have no privacy screen on the balcony between the 2 rooms, this wouldn’t have been an issue but for the fact that our special kind of thick neighbours actually climbed and leant over the divide and helped themselves to our travel pegs that were placed on our dryer!!! Never in all my 56 years of travelling has anyone stooped so low!! A quick note under their door and they were thrown back over to our side, but for the first time ever, I was wary about leaving anything on balcony and after balcony door was left open by the maid, I had to ask or her to ensure it was always locked, before she left the room.||*Late check out room - non existent in any of our stays. Always told to go back to reception the day before or morning of, and always the same answer. None available! Not great when you have a very late flight and are room-less for 8 hours + and this affects a high percentage of travellers as most of the TUI/JET2 flights to U.K. are late evening. ||Considering the top whack we paid for room, I’d have expected better - metalwork under bathroom vanity was rusted, bath rather than walk-in shower, tatty towels and no touch up after what appears to be major work on aircon unit in ceiling! ||For us this visit, the cons truly outweighed the pros and for that reason, we’ve booked elsewhere for 2026...

Read moreStayed here for 10 nights with my boyfriend bed and breakfast in a side sea view room. Let's start with the positives, the location of the hotel is perfect, 2 minute walk to the strip but no noise can be heard at night and 2 minute walk to the beach. The hotel is spotlessly clean and house keeping were brilliant they came every day to clean and replace anything we needed and were always friendly and said hello. The room itself was very spacious and the bed was huge and very comfortable. Even though we booked a side sea view room when opening the balcony door we realised we were directly facing the sea and also had a view of the pool with a huge balcony so I'm not sure if we got an upgrade or if this is correct. Reception staff were always pleasant and said hello as we walked past, same goes for the pool bar staff. We didn't use the indoor facilities as it's summer and we were always outside but we did go and have a nosey, nice indoor pool and gym and a small games room. Well done to the maintenance guys who I saw nearly every day coming to check on the pool and test the water, the pool was always lovely and clean during our stay and appeared well maintained. On one of the days there was a dj round the pool, this was really good and created a bit of an atmosphere because usually it was silent. Definitely think there needs to be some background music played around the pool. |Now for the negatives, the pool and pool area is far too small for the amount of guests staying at the hotel and there are not enough sunbeds. I appreciate we stayed during the uk summer 6 week holidays and the Cypriot holidays however, people were able to walk in from the street and use the facilities and locals who were staying there had groups of friends round the pool area reserving sunbeds and tables and chairs etc. As mentioned above we stayed bed and breakfast but we only went for breakfast once as it was an absolute shambles, the area where breakfast is served is again far too small for the amount of guests staying at the hotel. People were walking around with plates of food trying to find somewhere to sit to eat because there were no tables, people were constantly bumping in to each other trying to get to the food as it was so cramped. The food itself was actually okay and hot the day we did manage it😂. This hotel is ideal for a base if you're...
