OK - Soooo... A Mexican restaurant in Protaras... Crazy hey??? Well - turns out that it is not that mad of an idea... To start with, the chef is the Uncle in the family and a proper chef... He makes his sauces himself - all of them... And that in itself makes all the difference! In a country (which I love dearly) where food is at best "a way to extract cash from unsuspecting tourists" is is SO refreshing to find people for ACTUALLY CARE about what they cook and why!!! So - NO - Los Hermanos won't get the next "restaurant of the year" awards... But their food is generous, delicious and unpretentious... In other words, exactly "what the doctor prescribed"! In a local world where most so-called restaurants limit their skillsset to driving to the local Lidl and bulk buy "frozen pizzas" it is so amazing to find people who DO care that in itself this would have warranted a 5 stars note... Add to this the fact that the food IS actually pretty good, the service SUPER nice, and the menu well thought - and these 5 stars are indeed very well deserved... Only need now to sort out the...
Read moreWe ate here last night, 18th October. It was a fabulous meal. I have a wheat allergy, which they were absolutely great with. Told me all the dishes I could safely eat, if no issues about it at all.
The portions were great! We had nachos to share between 3 (2 adults, 1 child) then we had, chilli con carne (my dish), it was served in a clay pot with melted cheese grilled on top, it came with rice, refried beans and a mini corn on the cob and some corn tortillas, it was fantastic! My husband had a Burito, it again was huge, it was served with rice, salad and mini corn, soured cream and salsa. Our daughter had the chicken fajitas, they were huge too, with lots of chicken, it came with lots of fresh tortillas, salsa, soured cream and guacamole. The waiter gave me some corn tortillas so I could help with daughter with the fajitas at no extra cost, (such a lovely touch.)
It was absolutely amazing, so fresh and tasty and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. And we will definitely be back. Thanks for...
Read moreWe arrived here greeted warmly and wow, what an amazing setting.
Let's get to point 1. I ordered the prawn fajitas and fair enough I heard great things. We ordered drinks and these took a while to come so I started thinking hmmm.
My fajitas came and omg I didn't realise I ordered vegetables with a miniscule side of prawns (I'm clearly being sarcastic).
Everyone else had nice filling portions, clearly they are stingy on the prawns. Then I opened my tortilla basket and I didn't realise ordered tissue paper. Again im being sarcastic because it was a poor portion of thin pathetic pieces of tortilla.
Then there was the icing on the cake. At the end, I tried to help the waiter by stacking some of the plates and he very meanly told me dont do that. Suit yourself mate, I was just trying to help. Talk about wacky customer service.
Anyway, I will give you 4 stars because I would return in the future. Very tasty food and very delicious and customer service in general was great. Keep up...
