Rocas Experience — Restaurant in Paralimni

Came here tonight with my wife for our wedding anniversary meal.

On arrival we got seated at a beautiful sea view table, from there it started to miss all of our expectations.

Ordering drinks my wife asked for a Wine “spritzer” and was told by the server it’s not available. She would have to order separately which isn’t an issue, however the server couldn’t recommend a sweet Rose from the menu which doesn’t promote confidence.

Upon selecting a wine herself, she was told that it wasn't Rose and was in fact white wine. After the server was corrected we eventually got our drinks.

Both starters were nice, although I ordered the Mediterranean Tostado's which are made up of the fish of the day. At no point were we told what the fish of the day was, either on ordering or when the food was served.

For our Main, my wife ordered the Mushroom Risotto and asked to add chicken, she was told that’s not possible. This was the first ever establishment we have eaten that couldn’t add some chicken into a risotto for us. Due to having multiple chicken dishes on the menu, it’s an easy fix for the chef. I ordered a Prawn risotto, which when arrived the presentation was beautiful, however again the Prawns still had the Poo tract in place. They hadn’t been prepared correctly which left me to clean them out while trying to enjoy my food. Both dishes were very poorly seasoned and we had to ask for salt just to try and enjoy it.

My wife had a few mouthfuls and couldn’t eat anymore, due to the amount of Truffle oil used. When I asked a waitress for the bill, our plates were taken and not once did we get asked how our food was, and if it was okay. Due to the amount of food left over it would be clear to see that there is issues, however we weren’t asked.

This is one of the worst experiences we have had in such a beautiful restaurant. We were both very excited and the ambiance and music set a really good mood. However the service and food issues removed any real enjoyment.

Better attentive service would have given us opportunities to raise the issues, however, this was missing.

Came here for my birthday yesterday, the view and restaurant interior was great. Honestly though the staff was terrible, I mean I haven’t seen any more useless staff in my life xD. And that’s the main reason I will not be back. We first ordered room temp water baring in mind that was the ONLY drink we requested when we came in, they gave us icy cold water. Okay not a big deal but it proceeded to get worse. After our starters the waiter removed our plates, utensils and even the piece of paper below it thinking we are done eating overall and leaving? We told him we still have our main dishes you know that right? And he was like oh sorry. Proceeded to finish what he was doing and he brought us everything back. We then tried to order some sides after our mains arrived and the waiter said one minute I need to get my, I will ask my colleague to come. We were finishing our food and only then the other waiter came and told us they are out of stock of that side dish which is fine but we finished our food so it really didn’t matter at that point. (We also tried to order a fresh juice they also were out of stock of that). We then asked for a menu when we were done with our mains and a woman proceeded to take our utensils plates and mats away again!! Thinking we’re done. And then took 15 minutes to bring a menu, baring in mind the restaurants was nearly empty and there were only another four tables. So she was standing around talking to some other woman. Because the food was average to a bit above average and the service was the worst we’ve ever seen we will probably never go there again unless the personnel changes. I mean it felt like they didn’t care? Otherwise the restaurant itself was great..because of the service the atmosphere was affected as well..oh and they played very odd on repeat music that sounded as if it was stuck in a loop, which was quite...

Came here for a date night, restaurant was not too busy with 50% tables free and seemed to have plenty of servers working. Took a while to get menus to look at but first order was taken in reasonable time. We ordered a bottle of water but had to ask for this twice. Starters came 10mins apart for each of us but food was good - sushi was really nice. It took until our mains were brought to clear the plates - the waiter had to call someone over to clear them as he stood there with the food. We had used our knife and fork for the starters so these were taken with the dirty plates however we did not get clean ones brought and got asked to taken them back off the plates the waiter had already collected. At this point we had still not received the bread we ordered. The pasta was good however the burger came with truffle fries and truffle sauce in the burger - not on menu - great if you like truffle but we don’t!! One waitress was quick to take second drinks order and bring these, and also clear our plates. After 25mins we had still not been checked on to see if we wanted desserts so we asked for the bill. The bread we never got was on there so that had to be removed. The whole bill was €109 which left a sour taste as this restaurant is being sold as an experience and receiving was we did was disappointing. Overall atmosphere was fun but was ruined but...
