Back last week from our second stay at Nausicaa Beach, and it won't be our last. The setting is a major factor for how good this place is, but the staff are what makes it special. Thank you to everyone for another fantastic family holiday.||The food was yet again a treat at every point - Breakfast, lunch and dinner... There is always something different to savour. Plenty of themed nights and all done excellently. Big shout to Nikos, who yet again attended to our youngests dietry needs with care and attention. He made double sure on everything he could and couldn't have, and made him his own Gluten Free meals when there was something he really wanted, and as always, with a smile. Nikos and his team are superb, as our the waiting staff who keep you well looked after. We were looked after by Mahmoud Elbatal for our two week stay, and he was a joy to us. Efficient, attentive and a funny chap too, who took pleasure from trying to take my plate whenever I looked like I was enjoying a meal a bit too much! :) Thank you to the whole team in the restauarent.||Accomadation again everything we needed, with beautiful sea views to wake up to each morning. We booked two rooms, both next to eachother in Block 4, and both rooms we kept excellently looked after by Mustafa, who also helped us in and out up the stairs with our luggage.||You will see many of the team mucking in on all sorts of jobs around the hotel (more like a village). From Lifeguarding, to gardening, to behind the bar, to cleaning the pool and pathways... They do it all with enthusiasm and do a great job around the guests.||It was so good to see so many of the staff still there from our first stay two years prior, and that is a testement to the job Stathis and his team does with everybody.||The entertainment isn't the best, but in this location it doesn't need to be, as the hotel will lose a lot of guests to the excellent Protaras strip which is a just few minutes walk away, so I don't even hold this against them.||The only negative we had, and it was far from a major complaint, was the new sunbed policy. The policy itself wasn't the issue, more how it was conducted. The sunbed guy clearly has drawn the short straw on the jobs in the hotel, as he just can't please everyone, but it somewhat shows.||We were given two umbrella's with five sunbeds down by the activity pool, which is tucked away out of view from the sea and the main pool, where we would spend all of our time at the hotel. I was informed on being given these to speek to the sunbed attendent if we weren't happy with these, which I done the following morning. I asked for one umbrella (rather than trying to get two) on the seafront, so we could watch the kids from sunbed in both the pool and the sea - He arranged one for me at the earliest opportunity, which was four days into our stay - No problem, we could wait and activity pool would be base for first few days.||However, once we moved, he tried ejecting my wife and kids from the new sunbed as I wasn't there, rather than ask if they were with me. He then twice asked my wife when we were checking out, which just felt like we had pressure on us, rather than being able to just relax. I get it, he no doubt has half the hotel moaning at him for better sunbeds, but we effectively only took one of the two we had paid for, and still had a bit of nagging at us.||Previously the sunbeds had been a free-for-all, which for us worked. If you didn't get a pomp sunbed, it was on you for not getting one early enough, and if there were days you didn't need one (we ventured around Cyprus a fair bit), you didn't take one. With the new set up, we ended up with a pomp sunbed which went unused some days, when we out travelling around Troodos and Nicosia etc. It just doesn't seem effective, and caused more issues than it prevented, in my opinion.||Lastly, we hired a car to the trevelling around Cyprus in. We are one of very few who seem to do this, as there weren't many rentals in the car park, but it was very easy to do and parking well managed both in and out by reception, so it was peace of mind to know I had on-site parking when we were arriving back late.||Overall, again, I can't recommend this place enough. A special place to us, which we will no doubt return...
Read moreWaited 297 days for it! Indeed, I waited 297 days for this holiday and I was left extremely satisfied and content with my time at Nausicaa Beach! I will divide this review into some important categories:
Rooms 5/5 The room was absolutely aesthetic, clean and well maintained. We booked the Superior 2 Bedroom Apartment with Partial Sea View however we were greeted every morning with a full on view of the sea! The room amenities are perfect for guests needs and the implentation of digitally requesting for hotel services on the BLUE app enhanced the relaxation. The Air Conditioning works incredibly well and the beds are very comfortable.
Staff 5/5 The staff at Nausicaa Beach is truly what made me enjoy the holiday the most. The staff are amazingly friendly and have beautiful personalities. At the reception, you are always greeted well and assisted with full attention. All of the staff work really hard in the 37C heat but always manage to stay positive and act with content around all guests.
Food and Drink 4/5 As a vegetarian family, we still had plenty of options to choose from at the hotel restaurant. Each of the food was clearly labelled vegetarian or vegan. Some foods weren't labelled but it was no problem when we informed the chef who proceeded to individually point out each food that was suitable for us. It was brilliant he took the time to cater our needs and he even offered us to make some tortilli without bacon in it! Very kind indeed. Food tastes amazing and the deserts are exquisite. At the bar, staff are very friendly and always smiling. There is a lovely range of drinks to choose from and they are made in seconds. The snack bar is also very nice, staff there are very friendly and there's some good food on offer. We also tried out some beautifully presented Cypriot food at the Taverna. Absolutely amazing! To improve, there could be a larger range of non alcohol drinks and a larger range of snacks.
Location 5/5 The location is perfect. The sandy beach of Fig Tree Bay is only a one minute walk away and the ocean is also right in front of the hotel which you can access by walking down some steps. The hotel is very close to the Protaras Strip where we went shopping and bought many souvenirs. The 102 bus stop is also about a 5 minute walk away which we easily caught to head to Ayia Napa.
Swimming pool and Sunbeds 4/5 The swimming pool is always kept clean and so are the sunbeds. You just have to get up really early to "reserve" your sunbed with your pool towel before everyone else does! Swimming pool is large enough and helps to cool you down from the heat. Lifeguards work very hard. I constantly noticed the lifeguards were always looking and always on task. There was an issue where some people who weren't hotel residents went into the hotel pool. The lifeguard sorted the problem and got them out of there! Amazing work. As a former guest, I ask the managers at Nausicaa Beach to please please recognise the following beautiful people. MANY SPECIAL THANKS AND LOVE TO THE FOLLOWING: ✨ Maya ✨ ~ Maya was our housekeeping lady. She has a beautiful personality and is always willing to help. She left our room sparkly clean and works so so hard. Maya is just amazing, she is just so so kind and always smiling and Maya deserves to be recognised. Thank you so much Maya! Please do pass on my message. ✨ Karina ✨ ~ Karina at the reception was always a star from the moment we checked in. Karina works very hard and is so incredibly smiley. She has a beautiful personality and is always assisting us. Karina filled us with joy every time we spoke to her. Even a simple hello from Karina was a bundle of happiness. Karina always positively represents the reception and is just a brilliant person! Please pass on my message. ✨ Ahmed ✨ ~ Ahmed at the restaurant is so so so friendly and so so so smiley. He works so hard and is so dedicated and determined. He always greeted us with happiness and cheer and was a wonderful person to meet! Please pass on my message. Thank you...
Read moreFirst of all, this is not a 4 star hotell whatsoever. It's at best 2 stars hotel, don't get fooled and pay a lot for this hotel like we did! The rooms are nothing like the pictures. It's not even the same pictures of the bathrooms so y at first, we thought we came to the wrong hotel, that's how different the picture is from the reality. And we looked at 3 different booking pages to compare the pictures of the hotel. The hotel was over booked so they gave us the absolutely worst room in the entire hotel, a filthy room in the basement! And here I was thinking we're about to get a good room in a 4 star hotel. But no, we got sent down to the basement. We arrived around 9:20 pm, so the restaurant had already closed (very early if you ask me) so we couldn't enjoy a dinner when we arrived though we payed for all inclusive. We got one ham and cheese sandwich each and a juice in the dirty fridge. The sandwich was so dry you couldn't eat it. The room..where to start. Our room in the basement was right next to the laundry and garbage room. Great! All the bugs wanna come down to us! The room wasn't even cleaned, we found hairs, a cockroach in the bathtub, dirt everywhere, the walls the floor was dirt, the pillow case was extremely dirty and we had spiders and ants in the room. It was clearly not cleaned and also the staff confirmed that and apologized. The smell in the room was hideous, like a smell of sewage and urin and we heard a lot of noises from the sewage all the time. Also the ac didn't work and it's was 95 fahrenheit! We were chocked that this was supposed to be a 4 star Hotell and complained to the receptionist. We couldn't sleep in the room and they gave us another room (slightly better but not good) for the night but we had to return to the basement room the day after. We booked a room for 3 adults (40 years, 19 years and 15 years old), and we only got one double bed to share. They said the 15 year old should sleep in the sofa, which were too small for an adult or a teen, more suitable for a small child under 10 years old. So my 15 year old daughter's feet were outside the sofa cushion and the cushion was made of some plastic and wasn't a real mattress. We then asked for a real bed mattress so she could sleep properly and we got that but I mean, shouldn't that be pretty obvious?! How in the world would four men fit in that room is my question, since it was a room for 1-4 people, but only one double bed. The room gave us trauma and we will never book with Tui again! We lost 3 nights with bad sleep in a dirty, hot basement, and first on the fourth day we could get a better room. Completely disastrous! The food is what it is on a all inclusive hotell. The teenagers liked it, but I think it was ok. They hade various things to choose from, and they changed the food theme every day which was good. The hotel staff was very nice and tried everything to make you feel good! Very good service from the hotel staff. My complaints are not against the hotel staff, it's for Tui that scams people!! Hotel is located next to the sea and some bathing jettys. Five minutes walk to beach and some restaurants, bars and supermarkets. Many drinks to choose from in the all inclusive bar menu, and they did good drinks. Good snack bar too with several options. I can only recommend this hotel if you pay less than 2000 euro for a week (all inclusive) and expect nothing more than a...
