We had a wonderful experience at Poseidonio Tavern in Protaras. The atmosphere was really friendly and welcoming. The staff were amazing – very helpful and always ready to recommend dishes. They were also really great at helping with two less able members of our group, making sure they were comfortable and had everything they needed. It meant a lot and made the evening even more special.
The food was delicious! We tried several traditional Cyprus dishes like kleftiko, souvlaki, and moussaka, and everything was full of flavour. The meat dishes were cooked to perfection – juicy and tender. The salads were fresh and tasty, and they offered various kinds of halloumi, which was a lovely touch.
Portions were generous, so you definitely get good value for money. The house white and red wines were also lovely and paired perfectly with the meal.
There’s a great covered outdoor area where you can enjoy a nice cool breeze – perfect for relaxing and dining comfortably.
Highly recommended! We enjoyed it so much, we’re heading back tonight for our last meal of...
Read moreWe came here on our first night because it had such high reviews. I’m not sure why though, it’s definitely just average and not worth the walk to be honest. Firstly, the menu was way too big, and I'm always suspicious of a restaurant who has that. Especially a local one that also does a range of italian food - if you're a local Cypriot restaurant then why are you doing Italian food, and curry spaghetti.
We had the Greek salad, Seabass, and the Souvlaki, with some Hummus on the side. There was nothing wrong with the food, it just wasn't anything special. The Greek salad had 5 olives, which was a bit measly however. The Seabass was nice enough, although I'm not a fan of the fresh onions everyone uses as a garnish - but that's a local thing, not specific to this restaurant. The Souvlaki was also ok. Overall it wasn't in any way, it just wasn't anything special, and I think there are better restaurants closer to town
The restaurant decor is nice enough and if you had children the small play area would be...
Read moreExcellent restaurant by the sea! This is a hidden gem we were glad we discovered and came back here to eat the best food from our vacantion. The ambient is nice, and the staff is 10+, especially Tonis, who is simply a lovely person. The food is outstanding, starting with the cold appetizers with various drippings (we enjoyed all of them: tzatziki, tahini, hummus, taramas, eggplant salad and tyrokafteri which is feta cheese mixed with Greek yogurt and chilli flakes). The main courses were even better!! We had the grilled octopus (that comes with salad and potatoes) and grilled seabream (also comes with a sidedish of potatoes and fresh salad) the first day and the second day: stifado and swordfish captain greco that were mouth-watering. The house wine is nice and complimentary commandaria wine was a pleasant surprise. We definitely recommend this place for traditional food and fresh seafood! Thank you Tonis and the rest of the staff for making our last...
