On arrival we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and friendly staff on hand to carry our cases to our room. Always a good start to holiday. When we got to our room there was a bottle of champagne and a hand written note congratulating us on our wedding waiting for us (the travel agent had told them it was our honeymoon). The room was very clean and decorated in a simple, stylish fashion. Our room also had a number of sliding doors meaning you could devide the space into a separate living room, bedroom, and bathroom or open them all for a more open plan feel. The room also has a full size fridge and a kettle. Bottles of water, teas, coffee and sugar were re-stocked daily. Having never been all inclusive I had the idea that the buffet style meals would be very repetitive and all kept luke warm under a heat lamp. In fact there was 10+ options each lunch and dinner time. Everyday the options changed too. All the food was cooked in full view and put out fresh. Even between main meal times there was food on offer. There is also the meze restraunt where you have to book a table. This restraunt had a set menu of about 10 small portions which are brought to you one after another. The food and service here were both amazing. The staff are fantastic. They are always ready to help with a smile on their face, and would do anything they could to make you happy. They are almost constantly walking around taking orders and delivering drinks. Alternatively you can get drinks from the bar which is a little quicker that waiting for them to be brought to you. The happiness of the guests seems very important to the manager. He's there from morning to night chatting to all the guests. The hotel is situated right on the coast. The waters are crystal clear and the beach's, although quite small, are very well kept. Whilst there it was my wife's birthday. When we returned from a walk two desserts with a Happy Birthday tag had been left in the room for us. We hadn't mentioned to anyone that it was her birthday so this was a truly special extra touch. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about the hotel.

We researched a great deal before choosing this hotel, and would like to give details on each aspect after our stay. I am a bit limited by the length I can post, but my general comments are below. The King Jason Protaras is a fantastic hotel, and we had a wonderful stay. Although I believe that management needs to make a decisive choice between two different experiences, as the current approach limits the hotel from reaching its full potential. On the one hand, the outdoor areas are excellent, the service unparalleled, the food remarkable, and everything was generally kept to a high standard. The occasional violin, piano, or saxophone night entertainment adds to the feeling of a relaxed oasis after a lovely day relaxing by the pool. You get the feeling that management wants to make you have the best stay possible, and will make sure they do everything they can do ensure that. On the other, a lack of pro-active service, and monitoring of customer behavior detracts significantly from the experience. In an attempt to keep everyone happy, they rely on customer comments to retroactively solve any problem. This results in increasingly drunken behavior around the pool in the early afternoon, shouting, berating other customers, playing music from bluetooth speakers completely unchecked. It is similarly difficult to enjoy a nice dinner when members of the table next to you pass out on the floor, and need to be physically carried away by staff. Such incidents are not common, nor the actions of most, but occur often enough that the otherwise relaxed atmosphere is broken. If the King Jason Protatas wishes to place emphasis on a relaxing, high-quality experience, they must do more to politely talk to disruptive guests. If they would rather lean into the full all-inclusive party-like hotel, then the entertainment, and general atmosphere would need to be changed to suit this.

The King Jason Protaras is the perfect spot if you're after somewhere to completely relax with gorgeous weather. It's adult only, which is great for those travelling without children who want some peace and quiet. The food is excellent, and they cater well for vegetarians too. They have buffet options for each meal, with different themes every night and then also a meze restaurant which you can visit once a week, which I'd definitely recommend for their lunch options! The absolute best thing about the King Jason is their manager and staff team. They keep you constantly supplied with drinks at your tables and sun loungers, and have the fastest and most well run service I've ever seen. They're all very friendly and when they found out it was our honeymoon, stopped by our room to leave petals and chocolates for us! It's a 30 second walk to the beach and a jetty which you can walk off straight into the sea for some swimming! Overall, we had the most magical honeymoon here and are desperate to return!

We are a couple in our early 30s and stayed at King Jason from 11-19th September 2025 ✨. ||Hotel: The hotel is on a much smaller scale to what we are typically used to having normally stayed at bigger resorts however we were both really pleased with our choice. The location is absolutely perfect, the hotel overlooks Fig Tree Bay but is also a five minute walk to the strip with lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Ayia Napa is also a short distance away via bus/taxi or buggy. You can walk along the beach via the walkway both ways and there are steps leading down to the sea. The main areas of the hotel were always immaculate and staff work really hard to maintain the grounds. ||Room: When we originally booked the only option available via Tui was limited sea view. I did contact the hotel to ask if there was an option to move for a fee but it was full to capacity unfortunately. Our room had everything we needed including hairdryer, iron, ironing board and toiletries. There was also a packed lunch in the fridge when we arrived late at night which was appreciated. If we stayed again we would definitely ask for a different room location looking out over the pool area or sea. The balcony was also really small in our room and it was a tight squeeze fitting us both on the balcony at times! ||Staff: Amazing! Every single employee we encountered was friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Some special mentions we wanted to make were for Maria who always looked after us at breakfast and remembered our drinks orders. Asen and Mike around the pool who made sure we were never short on drinks. Asen is an absolute credit to this hotel he works tirelessly day in day out with a smile on his face! I can see why guests return year after year for the staff alone and it was lovely to see staff greeting guests with a hug who had returned. It was my husband’s birthday during our trip and our room was decorated with rose petals, a birthday cushion and a birthday cake was provided which was a lovely touch. ||Food and drink: 10/10!!! The food in this hotel is not mass produced like some all inclusive hotels, the selection available is smaller but the quality is absolutely amazing. We never had a bad meal, the food was really varied via nightly themes and tasted beautiful. I can see that some people who like chicken nuggets and chips might struggle but we are self confessed foodies and never ate out once because the quality of food was that good! We also used the snack bar menu which is available 1-5pm each day and the food was delicious - pizzas, chicken gyros, lamb kofta and chicken burgers were some of the things we enjoyed. Drinks were also really good, the hotel serve branded drinks and they are not watered down like in some hotels. We loved iced coffee on a morning and became partial to a pink gin raspberry slush on Mike’s recommendation! If the drink you want isn’t available on the menu just ask, the staff will go out of their way to make what you would like! ||Entertainment: There is no entertainment during the day but music is played at a low level through the day which is nice. At night there were sometimes singers and musicians. It is definitely more of a low key relaxed vibe so if you are looking for crazy pool games and wild parties you won’t find it at this hotel however as the strip was only a 5 minute walk away we often ventured out when we wanted more of a party atmosphere! ||Pools: There are three pools to choose from, our favourite was the hydro pool and it was nice to chill on the loungers in the pool with the bubbles on and a drink in hand! Sunbeds are always available, yes people get up before 8am to reserve but if you got up later you will still find a bed. The day beds on the grassed area were our favourite! The circular beds around the pool look amazing but weren’t the comfiest in our opinion. All the normal sun loungers have really thick mattresses and are super comfy!||Overall we had an absolutely fantastic stay. We never return to hotels as there is so much of the world to see but we have spoke of returning here because of how much we enjoyed it. ||Thank you for a gorgeous relaxing stay...

We stayed here for the final 5 nights of a 15 night holiday in Cyprus (after 5 nights Hilton Nicosia and 5 nights at the Cavo Zoe, both were great!) at the end of the season (October-November) and expected a lot (it was not cheap). We are used to staying in 4-5* hotels and while some aspects were good, they didn't really manage to impress us...

The room: we booked a standard suite trough Expedia. We are Expedia Platinum members and this entitles us to an upgrade at some hotels (including this one). We were excited to be told we were 'upgraded' during the check in process but disappointed to see that we received what we booked (asked for a high floor with nice views, received a 1st floor room with views over dead plants/ the hotel next door). Not a good start but we decided to leave it as the room was decent and only used to sleep/shower. Unfortunately all rooms seem to have twin beds even though their public is mostly couples... so we asked to convert the twin beds to a king bed. This was a bad move because the topper and sheets they used to cover the twin beds were far too small (see photos) so we removed them ourselves after the first -sleepless- night. The bed itself was comfortable but we just hate sleeping separate as a couple and this alone would be a reason for us not to return here.

The food: The food was mostly very good, apart from breakfast. Black bacon every morning and no decent bread, only toast bread (we don’t like toast) and small industrial bread rolls (even old ones on the last morning!). No fresh orange juice either (definitely not what we expected in this kind of hotel). The woman frying the eggs shouldn’t be there, so miserable! Lunch and dinner on the other hand were incredibly good and among the best we had in a Mediterranean beach resort. Unfortunately the restaurant feels like a canteen indoors with bright white lights and no background music. Luckily enough we had nice weather so were able to enjoy our meals on the terrace most of the days. The dining chairs were very uncomfortable btw.

The drinks: One of the reasons we booked this hotel was because we were sure that we would be able to enjoy a nice cocktail / glass of wine by the pool / in the evening. This was a big letdown! All the cocktails we tried were overly sweet, artificially tasting and sirop-based. They say that they only use ‘premium brands’ but this is untrue! I asked one evening which Rhum they have and I was shown 4 different ones: 3 local ones that I have never seen before and Bacardi…? They also don’t have a decent menu showing the drinks that they serve (for example which Gins / liquors they have) apart from the (horrible) cocktails. During lunch and dinner they serve some decent bottled wines but they never ask you which one you prefer and they would often top up your glass with a different wine…?

Pools: really nice, we really enjoyed the pools! The main pools were cool but refreshing and perfect for us. There is also a large heated wellness area with a heated pool including jets and jacuzzi, really great! Unfortunately the whole area around the pool is very neglected, full of large pots with weeds / dead plants / dead palms. Not my idea of a ‘luxury hotel’. I guess my photos are clear enough. Unfortunately the whole pool area is also facing north, meaning very few sun hours at the end of the season (when the sun is already quiet low in the sky)

Staff: these were all great and hardworking (apart from the lady frying the eggs in the morning)! The guys serving the drinks around the pool were incredible and definitely the stars of this hotel! The general manager is also often around which is a good thing, unfortunately his English skills aren’t the best so giving him feedback was not easy as he often didn’t understand what I was saying. I did send an e-mail with my concerns on the second day and feedback trough the hotel App on the first day but he / they never bothered to send me a reply. Not good and completely...

A fantastic, chilled holiday at The King Jason was exactly what we got. The hydro pool has us feeling like we were on a spa break.

Everything was faultless. The location, food, drinks, and facilities are obviously the selling point here. The location is beachfront to a beautiful, crystal clear ocean. If seeing turtles are your thing head on a twenty minute stroll to Green Bay and you’ll most likely find them. Water sports a plenty are just opposite the hotel and there’s a selection of supermarkets, restaurants and bars within walking distance. Although the chefs and bar staff work so hard that you certainly won’t need any of these, but they are there. Head into Protaras for some live music if that’s your thing, or catch a cab to Ayia Napa if you fancy a party.

For us, the staff made our holiday at the KJ. We’d recently stayed at another hotel in close proximity, and although it was also fantastic the service at the KJ made it stand out and is most likely the reason we’d return, and the hydro pool!

Everybody is so friendly and there’s a really nice, relaxing vibe around the hotel. We’d just come from two weeks in Ayia Napa so it was a nice contrast!

In these uncertain times, the hotel do their all to keep everybody safe. They provide a handy, free covid testing for your return flight home. This was offered at various times throughout the week, and although there’s a pharmacy offering this close by it’s a really nice touch to offer this to guests

Nothing that is the fault of the hotel, one of us had a minor (major) problem with one of our suitcases not being put into the taxi by the driver who was not associated with the hotel, the team went above and beyond to try and get this sorted out for us. We even got the video evidence of the small search party looking on the street for it! So in the unlikely event that things do go wrong, everybody at The King Jason will be on hand to help you out, even after checking out.

I can’t say enough about the impact on our holiday staff such as Mike, Craig, Angel, Bogdan, Nickolas and Loukina had. They are a credit to The King Jason.

We enjoy cocktails, and lots of them. Mike made sure we were always looked after when sunbathing round the pool. We ended up trying all kinds of concoctions from the bar. His level of service is second to none, he loves his job and it shows. He genuinely wants to ensure everybody is happy, and if that’s with a bottle of water, or a double vodka he will do his upmost to make it happen with a laugh and a joke too. We already miss the cherry daiquiris that Mike so confidently told us we’d like!

If you want good vibes and good...
