While the room wherein I and my wife stayed, for 2 weeks, was large and well furnished (with nice modern, but definitely not top quality) furniture; very comfortable bed and clean bed sheets as well as pillows, The actual room maintenance was minimal (i.e. the floors were nor cleaned properly during our entire stay.) The towels were however replaced often enough. The beds were not actually made up properly at all or at any time after our first day there. A woman named Jana was responsible for cleaning and making up our room. (This was made known to me by a note left on a night table which indicated as much.)||There was no way of controlling the temperature within the room by the occupant(s). This made it necessary to have to open the windows at times, which resulted in allowing in a few mosquitoes. ||The food provided as was available to us via our pre-paid basic half board (2 meals per day) was nothing special at all in any area. At best it was OK! The crepes for breakfast were consistently good however. I would not consider the chef there a real chef, but merely an only modestly qualified cook. ||One of the female food servers, with short frosted hair tried to get me to pay twice for beverages that I'd already paid for. I told her that was B.S., which of course it was! There was also an unexpected last minute charge roughly 10 Euro per person) which was never clearly explained as to what it was for, which left a particularly, 'bad taste in the mouth, 'so to speak. I would not recommend this hotel for more than a 1 to 2 day visit at most. There was almost no one there who spoke much English. A hotel that is rated over 4 Stars in Central Europe, in my opinion, should have some employees who can communicate in at the very least basic English.I'm sure I'll never visit The Czech Republic again.||Marianske Lazne hasn't much to either see or do there other than a nice fountain a few semi-interesting statues and the local SPA treatments. ||My rating of the hotel would be only a 2 Star level at the very best. ||There was however, one dining room server (a youngish man in I'd guess was his mid 20's) who was every bit a professional and very well mannered, who did speak...
Read moreMy wife and I spend two weeks in this beautiful hotel. The hotel is situated in the center of Marianske Lazne, a beautiful spa-town close to Germany. We booked the hotel with 2x24 spa-treatments, which included for example massages, aqua gymnastics, peat wrappings, etc. as well as a medical investigation (incl. a blood test). The service quality and friendliness of the staff was astounding; as well as the suite, which included a small kitchen; and the treatments. ||||The only disappointment was the food. We unfortunately booked the hotel with full board. The breakfast was acceptable, but with little variation (tip: avoid the watered-down juices from the juice dispenser, but take the freshly squeezed juice instead). Lunch and dinner offered beef, chicken, fish or pork as main courses. We had a feeling that there wasn't a real cook at work, because the food was unimaginative, repetitive, tasteless (apparently they don't know how to season food) and overcooked (like the rice, veggies and noodles). Luckily there were some great restaurants nearby (tip:...
Read moreGrandhotel Pacifik in Marienbad is absolutely excellent, and all services are on the highest level! ||||Everything is perfect: location (the hotel is surrounded by marvelous buildings and trees), food (diversified and of high quality), rooms (comfortable and elegant), SPA and medical treatment (especially carbon gas treatment). ||||As for cleanness, I must say that I have never met such excellent chambermaids as at Pacifik. My rooms at Brussels' Metropole, London's St.Ermin's and Vienna's Radisson SAS Palais have never been so ideally clean as our rooms at Grandhotel Pacifik. ||||The hotel staff is super-professional and at the same time so cordial and kind, that we felt ourselves as dearest relatives, and decided to come to Pacifik every year. First time we have been there in March 2015, second visit was in March 2016, and we would be happy to come again in...
