EFI SPA HOTEL — Hotel in okres Brno-město

A nice hotel near the city centre in Brno, bit sadly way too overpriced for what it offers: • for starters no free parking for the guests of the hotel, whit a price of 350kc per day - considering the price of the hotel that seemed like a joke to me, its the least you can offer your guests • the rooms are modern and the bathrooms are very nice, but the mattresses feel old and used and the small kitchen in the room offers almost nothing useful- no plates, no cutlery, no way of warming something up • the spa is nice, but way too small on not really taken care of the way it should- theres is only one small whirlpool with place for max. 4 people and you sometimes have to wait an hour or longer to even get to use it and the sauna isnt aired out properly, so the heat doesn't have a stable temperature and starts to smell with time the space in the wellness area is also big enough but not used properly, it offers too little to be called a spa hotel • the breakfast is great and the waitresses are nice, yet i feel like noone understand proper English and most of the staff just look at you confused when you talk any other language then czech. also the coffee from the machine is not great and good coffee costs extra. the bigger lady cooking the breakfast was also very unfriendly and doesnt not make you feel welcome in any way and keeps an annoyed face for no reason at all • the ladies at the reception could also be nicer, the young guy at the reception was the only one who kept greeting the guests- as you should

Overall a nice looking hotel in a good location, which isn't that important as Brno is very small, with very good breakfast, but definitely not worth the price, with a lot of things that could be done better- starting with investing a bit more of time and money into the spa area and getting someone who takes care of it the proper way and also getting staff that speaks...

Kryptonite within the EFI hotel bar is the lack of understanding of customer service, with excellent beer made by brewers in the backroom who care about their performance.||Sadly the same cannot be said for most of the front-line staff with the senior barman ( unsure of his title) the worst offender cocky ' arrogant & unresponsive as a coat rack.||Sadly this is my "local" as my only other option in geography is Mydlo a crazy bar which is great but I can't contend with the inside wood burner & open smoking in the bar, clothes stink for days after the shortest beer stops.||I have been a patron of the EFI since it opened its 2nd location, esthetically is a great Gasto bar with a Comprehensive food menu (overpriced ) but high quality & delicious food.||2 years on and many, many bar staff later they have assembled possibly their worst team, all except what looks like a manager tall skinny bearded man who genuinely cares! But sadly like all bars in Brno bar managers rarely present an issue for a different day.||Let's maintain my logic, epic beer with awful service.||Worst of all the other staff seem to take their lead from this malcontent barman who is approaching my list of enemies.||||Examples ||While sitting at the bar, "barman"( this is a title this man does not deserve) openly engores my existence (waiting for a drink ) choosing instead to continue to talk to his friend also sitting at the bar. Try everything. Everything is five star.||They make their own beer. It wins awards. It tastes good. They’re proud of it. They deserve to be. They make their own cider. That too is excellent. Light and flavour. Not too gassy and not too sour. Not too sweet either. Just right. Really. It’s good. The food is great too. I love the scrambled egg. Made fresh for each diner. Perfect. Made with pride. The dinner menu is also excellent. Made with pride. I chose Czech classics and I’m very glad I did. Waiter service was with care and pride. These people are excellent and want their customers to be happy. I was and am very happy. It’s an unusual hotel in that it’s spa centric. Great. Not my thing but great nonetheless. Come here and I don’t think you’d regret it. Oh the room? A suite. Two areas. A lounge part of the room and a bedroom part. Super clean and super comfortable and quiet. Well appointed with kettle and coffee machine and mini bar stocked fridge and a shower and bath and well everything you’d expect. Officially the hotel is four stars but their service and most of all quality gets them five stars from me. First night I opened a balcony door and couldn’t work out how to close it. Manager came to help and she was rightfully proud of quickly fixing it. On a Sunday via a call to maintenance who guided the simple solution over her phone. The pride and delight on the managers face was wonderful. She cared about sorting it and that care is infectious. Just come here. Eat here. Stay here....
