Hotel Arena — Hotel in okres Chomutov

Stayed in the Arena as a change to our normal hotel in Chomutov at the Merton just to see what difference there was. The Arena is 10 minutes longer walk into town centre which was not a problem for us as we enjoy walking.||Reception was nice and spacious and the check in was quite easy with a very friendly young lady speaking good english to us as my Czech is sparse to say the least. The reception had vending machines for snacks and drinks as the restaurant/ bar was not manned 24 hours, which was not a problem for us.||Lifts to all floors, our room was on the 2nd floor and was comfortable with TV and nice big shower and hairdryer. No tea/coffee facilities though. The bed was typical of european standard, 2 singles pushed together and really firm mattresses which is how we like it, room spotless and clean.||We had booked breakfast which was in the very ample sized Restuarant/bar on the ground floor, buffet had everything expected of a 3 star establishment and again the staff were on hand to clear tables and ask if everything was satisfactory.||All in all we thought the hotel was good...

I stayed here for one night on business, and considering the price I was impressed.||The hotel is clearly quite new, and as it is next to a large indoor arena there is good parking provisions.||Check - in was quick and easy (the staff on reception were very good and spoke good English), and my room, whilst being basic, was clean, bright and comfortable. The bathroom was also decent with a good shower.||I ate dinner in the restaraunt and in my opinion the food was very good quality (and cheap by western European standards), the staff in the restaraunt were again excellent.||I had a good nights sleep, however my only criticism was that noise from the corridor is quite loud and there were children running back and forth late into the night.||Breakfast in the morning was again of good quality with a choice of cooked and continental food.||At a total cost of 700 Czk for room and breakfast (approx £20) represents exceptional value for money. It is a typical hotel for business people. Good value for the money you pay and the price is good compared to others. It is a modern hotel at good place. The parking place is behind the hotel, so if you don´t know it you have to re-park your car. It was very cold in the room when I came in, but using air-condition for heating it got warm quickly.
