I went here for a pre-booked lunch with a group of French friends. The welcome was good and the 'free' wine came in huge glasses. The meal was served but there was one too few main courses prepared. I was the one with no food. I explained and was politely told that my meal - it was a pork and fried batter dish - was being cooked. After some delay it came. The pork was undercooked and bloody. I sent it back. Some time later another plate of food appeared perfectly cooked and was delivered to me by the Head Chef. He was full of apologies.. I was happy and the rest of the staff extremely apologetic. Later the chef reappeared to tell me my coffee was 'on the house' and he was also offering me a liqueur. My French friends were baffled by all the attention as we were sitting on different tables and they did not fully understand what was happening. My pudding was, unlike everyone else's, accompanied by ice cream which my Cornish wife said reminded her of Cornwall's ice cream. On exiting I was offered and refused another 'digestif'. I heartily recommend this hotel for its ethos and conscientious staff. After all, it is easy to miscalculate when one party numbers more than thirty diners. it is easy to undercook pork when you have a guest waiting. It is another thing to do it well a second time and have the humility to come out of the kitchen. This was not a gourmet meal but it was a...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night, the room was pretty and clean, only drawback was that I am used to have a curtain around the bathtub so the whole bathroom doesn't get wet, but that's my problem that I am used to stand while I take a shower xddd. Location is great, right at the edge of the old centre so you can see the whole city in a nice round trip and end up where you started, at the hotel. Service was excellent, well as we stayed only for one night I cannot say how good is the room service, but the breakfast was very good. Lot of space to sit, lot of things to choose from. Typical hotel breakfast as I would imagine it, nothing luxurious, but just everything that I want. The receptionist was so sweet, friendly and talkative, which I always appreciate, it makes you feel welcome. We had a problem with a parking as we forgot to mention it in advance, so our only option was to park on the street, which is for free and not a problem at all, but we couldn't use the hotel's parking. But, the receptionist was so nice that she parked her own car on a reserved place for another quest, who didn't come at that time yet, so we could park on her place. I imagine this couldn't be done if we stayed more than one night. But nevertheless, it was a very kind gesture that I will remember. Next time I will visit Kutna Hora, I will try to book this hotel...
Read moreMy review is based on 14 days in Czechia staying in differnt accommodation every night. Based on value & if I would i stay here again and recommend...No. sorry! Solid built imposing hotel with a very friendly welcome; well furnished & original paintings everywhere in which i booked & paid for a double bed.
Unfortunately I can not recommend this hotel as I was given what looked like the double bed that I specifically booked and paid for but camouflaged with a large cover. At bed time I discovered I had been cheated and had two singles pushed together. The photo shows the large gap between. Anyone can see the guest would fall down the middle. Its not acceptable to charge for a double bed and give 2 singles as only a single can be used. If i had wanted a single bed i could have had a single room for the fraction.of the price. 2 singles won't work for couples either. More significant problem.
Sound from rooms travels freely. Ear plugs essential as you can hear every sound until they go to bed. Then you hear more.. So anoying For these reasons I can not recommend this...
