This hotel was in a good location just steps from the main square and less than 10 minutes from the cathedral and other sights. But the staff was really off-putting. The guy who checked us in was less than friendly and not inclined to be helpful at all - he bordered on rude. One server in the restaurant all but ignored us while another one attempted to be helpful, but neither of them spoke anything but Czech, so that made it a bit difficult. There are lots of stairs to climb here and we didn't see an elevator. Our room was large and comfortable, but needed a good dusting. The duvet cover was nice, but the duvet itself was a lumpy synthetic. The bathroom was fine - not enough hooks/bars to hang towels, and there was no hair dryer available. Water pressure was low and the soap dispensers were empty. No leaking shower here, but the sink leaked! We never did get the TV working, despite following the instructions in the room. Breakfast was good - a nice combo of serve yourself cereals, breads and yogurts supplemented by a menu of about 4 items you could order from the server. All in all it was fine. We might stay again, especially if they get some friendlier more...
Read moreThe location really can't be beat. It's an easy walk to absolutely everything in the main town of Kutna Hora, and it was a great bargain to boot. They offer a cooked-to-order breakfast menu in the mornings, which was delicious. It's not a fancy place, but honestly, this may be the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean! We were on the top floor, so we had great views of the town and surrounding mountains, but the upper floors do require walking up a lot of stairs. The ceiling height in our room was a bit tight due to the slant of the roof, but the space was still very comfortable and furnished with all the necessities. Be forewarned if you're arriving with a lot of luggage: the center of town, including the hotel, is also a bit of a (mostly) uphill walk from the central...
