My boyfriend and I decided to drive out from our home in Prague to visit some sights in Kutna Hora. It got up to 30° that day and since there is a zero tolerance no drinking and driving rule here in Czechia we both decided we wanted to end our day with a few cold pivos and listen to some music (as you do here, we are not alcoholics). That being said we needed a place to stay and the closest place we found available downtown was here at Libusina Villa in their deluxe room #6. First impressions when arriving was that it was brand new and very clean. The private bathroom was fantastic! Zero complaints there. The room was super cute and cozy. Small but really for a quick one night stay it was exactly what we needed. But since it was 30° and around 6 pm the sun was shining brightly through the rooftop window into the small room and because it felt a little stuffy so we cracked the window open and went off for a cold pivo and dinner. We arrived back to the hotel around midnight and the room felt like it was a million degrees. There was no fresh air flow through the window and you are not able to really prop it open much. We both had a really hard time trying to get to sleep in the heat. I ended up using my purse to tie around the handle and then position it around the heater (which was off) and get the window to stay completely open. So really this is just a warning to you all if you are traveling the hotter days to maybe book a room that has a real window or at least a fan. We did not care there was no A/C but no fan and no real window in the heat was brutal. BUT the beds were SUPER comfy, so there's that! Also, our TV was totally broken and in fear, we would be blamed we immediately reported it to the reception and she just replied: "I know". It was too bad because we could have at least watched TV while trying to fall asleep in the hot hot heat. Overall I'll be honest I would definitely book a stay here again but maybe in advance to secure a better room. OR if I came back in the fall/winter I wouldn't even mind staying in...
Read moreLovely stay, super kind staff, and a VERY, VERY comfortable bed. Perfect location, too - only a few blocks from the heart of Kutna Hora.
We had Room 6, which is…unique! One of you needs to be comfortable sleeping with your face ~1.5ft from the ceiling. The whole place is charming, cozy, super clean, and we slept amazingly well. Breakfast was the small standard European buffet, but the awesome lady who works there was also making fresh scrambled eggs.
Definitely recommend staying here, with one tiny warning: We had actually booked Room 9 on their website (AND received an email confirmation!). But when we arrived, they had no record of our booking - the only room they had left was Room 6. We were super lucky that they also had a parking spot for us, too - only 3 parking spaces on site, so make sure to let them know you want one!
Don’t let this stop you from booking, because we absolutely will stay here again - we’ll just make sure they received our booking...
Read moreI was very pleasantly surprised with this lovely B&B style hotel. The common areas and rooms were spotless and Ava, who manages, is an absolute treasure. My room was very homey and comfortable. It was also quite large and bright. There was a pretty balcony just off the bedroom overlooking a cherry trees in full bloom. It was truly picturesque. I had a private ensuite spa bathroom with all modern amenities. I fell in love with provided toiletries. A European style breakfast was included and absolutely delicious. Different bread options, tea, coffee, juice, water, jams, ham, veggies, cheeses, and even a selection of cakes. It seemed that many locals travel to Kutna Hora for long weekends and the hotel was full of families and couples but was very quiet. I would not hesitate to recommend Libusina Villa and also the town of Kutna Hora if you find yourself in the...
