GASK - Central Bohemian Gallery, contributory organization — Attraction in okres Kutná Hora

This is a remarkably good art museum for a small city like Kutna Hora. It's campus is next to the famous cathedral. I spent 15 min in the cathedral and more than 3 hours in the art museum, including some time in the garden and the coffee shop.

The artwork in the permanent exhibit is arranged by themes, such as hope, friendship, freedom, mind, and many more. The pieces of art on a given theme are accompanied by interesting quotes on the specific theme, quotes by prominent Czech and world thinkers. Thus, the exhibit is bi-modal, paintings and text.

I think this gallery alone would justify a visit to Kutna Hora. An old town stroll would be a nice complement to the...

This could have been 5 star review - if AFTER ONE YEAR OF REVIEWS COMPLAINING ABOUT RUDE STAFF MEMBERS THE GALLERY WOULD FREAKING DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!! First unpleasant cashier, and then we got literally harassed by a security guard on the first floor, who was extremely rude to us and then kept following us in completely empty gallery, ROOM BY ROOM and no he wasn't just doing his job, there was a Czech speaking couple coming right after us, and he let them see the gallery with no disturbance whatsoever. One star review - just for the coffee place that is inside, which was great. But other than that.. I don’t understand how most of the pieces got into this gallery.. Labels and quotes all over the walls and around the artworks are distracting more than anything that are supposed to mean. Crucifix made out of brooms… and few meters down the hall big sign “respect” really?
