Hotel Stará Pekárna — Hotel in okres Liberec

I stayed 1 night at the end of November in this tiny “hotel”. It’s located in the historical centre of the city on a small square. It wasn’t crowded and the city mall is in walking distance (10 minutes). However, this is the only bright moment of my stay. The story began 1 day before arrival, when I received a text message saying that when I miss check-in window (14:00-19:00), I’ll be charged with 6 EUR FEE. This is ridiculous. So I tried to be on time (18:40). When I got out of the car, I was welcomed by a small puppy from the receptionist. It was cute, but the puppy made my trousers muddy. It was quite cold in the hall, but the room was heated. The building is quite old and everything is old-fashioned. The bed was a disaster with ripped linings, uncomfortable mattress, rusty toilet, etc. The breakfast was nice. The receptionist offered me fried eggs. Coffee smelled unnatural. It was cold inside. Even the receptionist was sick with tearful eyes. On the other hand, I appreciate the possibility to use the parking in the yard. Even after checking out. Honestly, I am big fan of small entrepreneurs, but I won’t use this pension any more. It’s not value...

Calm place with private parking close to the city centre (600m). Very helpful and kind lady on the reception desk. A bit short arrival time (14:00-18:30) if you have longer distance.. but possible to prolong on request... Room and installation is very reasonable... even small fridge and tea/coffee equipment available... there was a bit unpleasant smell of the old and unsufficiently ventilated room at the arrival. Internet connection was sufficinet. Breakfast (extra paid) was unfortunately the most problematic point... standard from 8:00 (too late for us) - there was promissed at 7:30 but the result was very poor... we arrived at 7:25 and lady was shocked that we are so early ... and there was available nothing to eat... lady was very chaotic and it took about 15 minutes!!! to have a piece of bread... so there left about 5 minutes for the very poor breakfast for us... this was really very weak point... having the information before we wouldn't order the breakfast at all. Hard to judge the standard...

This small Pensionat, or B & B, had a beautiful square opposite and was a 5 minute walk to the historical centre. Free parking is provided at the back.||We had a room outside the main building and, although inconvenient in sub zero temperatures, was acceptable. It was considered an apartment and although the bed and bathroom was clean the kitchenette was not. So we did not use the kitchenette or make a cup of tea. Not all our lights worked.||There was a spa underneath our room/apartment and this was noisy. At one stage our room had a strong smell of chlorine (similar to when we use our spa at our home),||The breakfast was a standard German/Polish/Czech breakfast and not of the same quality as the other Pensionats we have stayed at. ||Would we stay here again? I don't think so. It has been our least favourite stay of all...
